Im telling ya, Dice K's problem is the WBC. He should not be throwing that many pitches that early.

Justin Masterson on the other hand tonight...fucking sweet.

Hopefully they can win....

His bigger problem is commanding the strike zone. If he can get that WHIP something below stratospheric, he might have a chance of making the All-Star team.

Paps was lights-out. Top of the 12th now. Let's get this done!

Great job by Lopez handing the win to the A's on a silver platter. Why do we still have him, anyway? He's mediocre at best.

OK, the Sox need to record a win tomorrow and snap out of this, though I don't have much faith in Wakefield. The pitching has been pathetic overall.

well, on the plus side, it's done...

Frigging Lopez! Why we don't drop him in favor of Bard is beyond me, seems like he brings very little to the table, and he just cost us this one...

God dammit, why do we have Lopez? With this teams luck, this game WOULD end on a fucking infield hit.

In good news though, the bullpen, minus dickwad at the end there, was fucking excellent, and seeing Masterson dominate was nice to see...

2-6....................fuck that.

Well we need someone to be the new Eric Gagne, right?

At least it's still early in the season, but they'd better be back to winning ways when they come here to Cleveland at the end of the month. That said, Cleveland is one of the only teams that's actually doing worse.

I just hope Wake can remember how to throw his darn knuckleball.

I hope. This team is just failing in so many areas right now, it hard to watch.

It can't stay like that? Can it? Blah...

But like you said, the bullpen (minus Lopez) was fantastic. Youk and Bay have been on fire, too, so things are not hopeless. They just need to get this out of their systems in the next week or so or I'm going to start worrying.

At least the Celtics won.

Great win from the A's tonight. Don't get a hit for 4 innings, and the guy who needs to get off the Shnide comes through with the walk off. Also nice that the A's have taken this series. It's early yes, but when you take a series from the Red Sox (No matter what the record is), it's a confidence booster.

Really?! I had no idea. Thanks for the enlightenment.

I did like how Cole Hamels had one bad game and ESPN's Buster Olney wrote about how he joins the legions of pitchers who won the WS and then sucked. It's possible his recent elbow injury will prevent him from ever being that good again, but I think a sample size of one is a bit small to start spattering claims like that all over their MLB homepage.

His elbow injury is a concern, but certainly not enough to write off his entire career ;)

Tim Wakefield...man, what a performance today. Talk about a classy guy, always has been always will be. I wish he had gotten the No-No, but I will take the win.

Well, the Major League-leading offence of the Jays did it again. ;)

Seriously, though, a good recovery from last night's extra-inning loss. Aaron Hill, Scott Rolen, Vernon Wells and Michael Barrett all homered, and Scott Richmond went 6.1 innings, giving up four hits, three walks and two runs, only one earned. And Roy Halladay is taking the hill tomorrow against Francisco Liriano we should be 8-3 by tomorrow so long as the bats don't have an off-night. :D

The Mariners might be for real. They held the Angels to three runs today, while Griffey homered and Ichiro hit a grand slam. Six straight wins now, the last two against the mighty Angels. :)

Who the fuck is Bob Howry. For the love of god if a guy is giving up 5 hits for the total players of 8 he faced, that's a terrible track record. I was confused why Bochey didn't take him out earlier. I was also confused why Kershaw was taken out when he was because the kid was dealing tonight.

It's easy to pass snap judgment 1 week and a half into the season, I like to give it about 20 games or so before I see if it's an early April fluke or a trend that will last all season. Some of the unlikely hot teams now could be buried by May 15, and some contenders may just be off to a slow start.

That's why they play the games!!

I'm glad that I got to see the good Ollie Perez on the ESPN telecast last night. Let him walk 6 over 3 2/3 sometime when the game isn't on here.
