Tim Wakefield...man, what a performance today. Talk about a classy guy, always has been always will be. I wish he had gotten the No-No, but I will take the win.

Yep. He was solid and just what the team needed.

Hopefully that's the start of a turn-around going into the weekend.

Sweet: Blue Jays pound Minnesota 9-2 to improve to 8-3.

Sweeter: The Yankees get embarrassed in their first game in their new stadium. :D

Sorry Starbreaker, but it appears the Braves have now fallen to 5-4!

Yeah, but the Phils gave the Nats their first win. So all teams suck in the Majors. Let's go Blue Rocks.

And I'm not serious, but, seriously, the Nats? I don't mind losing to really good teams, but they lost by a fair margin to the Washington Nationals. Nobody's happy right now. Especially because the Nationals don't have a fan base so nobody's thrilled that they managed to win a game.

Not sure why, but Toronto seems to own the Twins. I think the Twins have lost something like 12 of the last 13 against the Blue Jays. I still have faith in my Twinkes, though.

And loved seeing the Yankees get slaughtered in their new megabucks stadium.

I'm happy that the Nats won. I want to see them have a winning season.

As long as they don't beat the Mets, that is. :p Or the Rockies.

Yeah, even a couple of years ago when the Twins were the much better team, the Jays seemed to really have their number. I actually hope your guys turn things around... I've always liked the Twins.

I'll be highly amused if nobody shows up to the new park.

I doubt that will be a problem. It is at Dolphin Stadium, because that place sucks for baseball, but with a decent place to play, attendance will pick up.

Soon they'll be even better. :techman:

From Wiki...

Construction cost$9015 trillion

Wow, for that much money, the grass should mow itself.

Look at the listed dimensions. "And a fly ball into the outfield, he's going back, back, back, back, back, back, back, back, back, back, back, back, back, back, back, back, back...." :)

What are you all talking about? The Marlins' new ballpark doesn't seem so outlandish. The field dimensions, for example, will be fairly close to that of Dolphin Stadium.

Brad Penney lasted three innings...boy did he lay a stinker.

Why exactly did Tito just put Lopez in to throw balls after the Sox tied it up? Stupid.

EDIT: Well, Tito just realized his mistake. Of course it's two on, two out instead of none on, two out. Lopez should be sent down.

The Atlanta Braves (5-5) dropped their fourth straight, getting shutout by the Pirates.

Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Phillies blew a pretty good lead to the Padres and will probably lose. They have been giving up an average of 6.9 runs a game. This kind of spoils my poke-fun-of-the-Braves fun.

Well, the Sox came back from a 7-0 deficit to win 10-8. The bullpen has been solid--except for Lopez.

Now if Papi could get into the groove, the team would be starting to look alive.

For a time, the Wiki page had an extra set of zeros in the imperial measurements.

If Fox was smart, I should be seeing the Cardinals game or the Dodgers game right now. Because they're not, we get to see the Yankees get absolutely fucked up. I guess I can live with that, and yes does it feel so good. :guffaw:
