Spoilers Lucifer - Season 2

I really enjoyed this episode. It was so sad to see Lucifer reveal his true self and be rejected in that way. That was a completely understandable reaction on the doctor's part, but I could really feel for the guy in that moment.

It's also an interesting contrast from Maze's reveal to Trixie. Maze's relief (at Trixie's reaction) was palpable.

Not sure I would call the doctor's reaction "rejection", it looked more like someone trying to hold on to their sanity.

The contrasting reactions used with Maze and Lucifer were great and wonderfully played. Maze's uncertainty counterpointed with Lucifer's hopefulness was followed by unexpectedly happy relief of Maze and very expected disappointment from Lucifer was well done. I can't wait to see next week. The promo looked good.

Trixie for President of Mars! I'm With Her!

I figured out Lucifer's dilemma before he did. He's driven to punish the guilty, but now he's the guilty one. And he can't get anyone to punish him, because he can't even confess his crime to the mortals and be believed (or if he did, it'd end the series), and nobody who knows what he did has any interest in punishing him. So naturally he's a wreck.

Was Lucifer genuinely attempting suicide-by-sniper there, though? How close does Chloe have to be to shut down his invulnerability?

Interesting reveal that he's never actually killed before, just punished those already dead. Is that really true, though? Didn't he kill Malcolm in the season finale? Or does that not count because Malcolm had already died and been brought back?

I'm a little confused about Uriel dying. I know the knife was special, but Lucifer is always going on about being immortal, so I was surprised that Uriel could be killed (without Chloe being nearby). Doesn't seem like angels should be kill-able. So, did Uriel return to Heaven or is he in Hell? Or is there a "special place" for angels to go to be recycled or something? Guess I'm overthinking a tv show, but I am a Trekkie. It's how we spend our time.

It's common in science fiction and fantasy for supposedly immortal beings to be killable under the right circumstances. "Immortal" usually just means the theoretical ability to live forever unless x, y, or z happens.

They explained this. The blade was a special supernatural weapon with the power to destroy an (otherwise) immortal being. Uriel simply no longer exists. It's the same as in Hercules/Xena with the occasional gimmicks that could kill gods (a power that Xena herself gained eventually). They're not sent to an afterlife, they're just eradicated from existence. Which is why Lucifer is so devastated by what he did.

No "heaven" for Uriel. They made it pretty clear in the show that he simply ceased to be. Same results as the angel knives have on angels and demons on Supernatural.

Yeah, Uriel was simply wiped from existence, no afterlife, not above, not below.

I really liked that scene at the end where Lucifer revealed himself to the doctor. I loved the way it was filmed, with the car headlights occasionally flashing by. It gave it a very eerie feel, which I thought worked perfectly.

So now I'm wondering if we'll ever even see the doctor again. (I'm not one to watch previews. Mostly.) If they wanted to, they could write her off from the series, right then and there. She would be a perfect casualty of Lucifer telling (and showing) the truth. A great warning for his future interactions with Chloe.

Looks like Mum has Amenadiel completely under her spell. Whatever she's up to, he's going to be on the wrong side of it.

Sadly, no cutie Elle this week, so instead I'll ask: what's up with Dan this season? He's just hanging around not really doing much of anything.

I find this pseudo-sibling rivalry Lucifer and Dan have occasionally humorous but generally grating. I really don't see how he still has a job on the force or why Chloe has the patience with him that she does.

I think we'll see Linda again. She's been too large a character to just drop altogether so early in the season.

It grates on me every time Lucifer refers to Dan as a 'douche.' The only 'douche' on the show is Lucifer himself. While I enjoy the show because I love mythology in all its forms, he (Tom Ellis' Lucifer) really is the worst part about it for me. He comes across as obnoxious, infantile, and dim-witted rather than sexy, edgy, and cunning. Especially when he's trying to be sexy, edgy, and cunning.

Hopefully, the writers are starting to get away from this gimmick. I don't expect them to be friends but the rivalry really makes them look stupid and since it's all down to rivalry over Chloe's attention it reinforces Chloe looking like she's a prize between them rather than an independent character. It's antics for high school teens.

Linda was mostly trying to process what she had just seen. It was not only knowing what Lucifer truly looked like, but everything he had said which she had dismissed as metaphors suddenly meant something different.

I really like her as a character. When we first saw her she seemed to be just one of the seductions along the way but she has really evolved.

I think that's kind of an understatement. She looked paralyzed with shock and terror, possibly verging on catatonia.
