Spoilers Lucifer - Season 2

I really liked Lindsey Gort, the actress who played Candy (or rather, the actress who played the actress/con woman/whatever who played Candy). She gave a really good comedy performance and was great at reacting in funny ways to the others talking to/about her, and she made Candy so charming and sweet that I kind of resented the other characters for treating her so badly even when I thought she was "just" a bubbly exotic dancer. And she's quite gorgeous, too. I hope the character returns and we get some insight into who she really is.

I really enjoyed seeing her play a "normal" person at the end.

So here's my question: did Lucifer lie?

Also, damn! He seriously pulled one over on everyone.

Right. You wouldn't know you were even looking for an answer to that question until you got to the very end of the show, and then you'd have to go all the way back to the beginning and watch it again to check.

Yeah, he's the one who says "Candy Morningstar, my wife," not her. He also introduced her as his wife to his mother.

Well, maybe her name really is Candy, and maybe they did get legally married (they were in Vegas, after all) and then annulled it once the con was over. And maybe she really is an exotic dancer. No reason a stripper has to be dumb; lots of college students do it to help pay for their education.

Well for what seemed like it was going to be a pleasant ending, that got dark as hell!

It was kind of tough to watch this, because I just learned earlier today that Timothy Omundsen (who played "God Johnson") had a stroke recently. He's apparently recovering, but it's unclear how severe it was.

Aside from that, it's amusing to see Omundsen play "God," since I first became aware of him as the Jesus-knockoff character Eli in Xena: Warrior Princess. So he's gone from playing the son to the father, sort of. I guess he was drawing on the same acting muscles to an extent, projecting that sense of divine serenity and wisdom -- just with a Texas accent this time. I figured there'd turn out to be some other explanation for who and what "God Johnson" really was, but I couldn't guess what. (Except to theorize that maybe the murder victim he appeared to heal was actually the supernatural one and had healed herself, but that wouldn't have explained his knowledge.)

This was a good season finale. I liked seeing Lucifer move past revenge and send his mother to create a new universe. There were also a number of good character moments for Chloe, Amenadiel, Maze, Linda, and even Dan. The twist at the end was also fun. You pretty much knew he wasn't going to be able to have his conversation with Chloe, but the desert scene was just all kinds of awesome. :bolian:

Remember, wussies don't get lollipops.

Any news on whether Tricia Helfer is done with the show? There's a lot of potential for storytelling if they continue with the current character, namely finding out the truth what happened to her.

Given what a capricious and violent deity Mum turned out to be -- the show basically blamed her for all the Old Testament plagues and disasters and other fits of divine wrath -- I feel sorry for the inhabitants of the universe she creates. On the other hand, given what she said about hurting her children being the last thing she wanted, maybe she'll care more for the denizens of a universe she created than one her husband created -- since then they'll all essentially be her children. So it could be a growth experience for her.

They call this a sizzle reel, not a trailer. Probably just clips from the season 2 episodes they moved to season 3.
