Paramount is god awful with Merch, especially compared to Star Wars. Star Trek has been on TV for 10 years now, why is it so hard to find cool merch? I did find the Chibi Lower decks key rings at Target. I bought four and got Mariner, Boimler, Rutherford and Tendy, so I was happy.

But other than that, I have not seen Star Trek merch in the wild in a year or more.

What the hell, these are so cute! The two versions of Badgey! I had no idea merch like this was still in circulation. Anyone has these?

According to the art book Rosario Dawson was originally approached to play Petra Aberdeen, but she was too busy with another ‘sci-fi franchise’. Presumably Star Wars

The Lower Decks art book is so goddamn good. My fear was that it would've been one of those uninspired Titan Books 150-page tie-in puff pieces that consisted of art and screencaps we've seen time and time again, but boy was I wrong! We've got complete character reference sheets for all of the main characters, a ton of preliminary sketches and alternate designs for a bunch of the main and recurring characters, locations, and ships. There's a ton of stuff covered across all five seasons of the series.

If you're on the fence over getting the book, I highly recommend it for any Trek fan or any animation fan. This is an essential reference book.

Spelling errors happen, but I always wonder how character names get mangled sometimes. If you aren't au fait with Trek character names, why wouldn't you check? And it's in a Trek book, surely someone who QC'd it knows Trek.

Page 212 of the Lower Decks art book refers to "Quark and Kiera".

Only one letter, easy typo, doesn't matter. But still.

Could be legasthenia, I have a friend who has that and said he just can't get it right, only phonetically, no matter how much he tries. Perhaps related to the very common their/there/they're confusion.
