Favorite AND least Favorite Female Character?

I mentioned upthread my favorite female character is Emperor Georgiou. I also said a least favorite wasn't immediately popping into mind but that it would eventually. It finally did...

... the lady at the barn offering corn on the cob to Janeway and crew when they were all captured by the Caretaker Array in "Caretaker"! The Corn On The Cob Lady rubbed me the wrong way, back in 1995 and, within moments, I was proven right!

That got the brain power going, because I had to really look for a deep cut. Then, as I thought, it just sprang to me. It's like finding out what an old song was that you could only half-remember and didn't know the name of. Then, once you found it, it all came back.

Kira Nerys. Had her dark side as a terrorist but had trouble with the things she did in the past , She did come to terms with individual cardassians too, they wernt all souless oppressors.
T'pol. She plainly has a Dry sense humour, and can let her curiosity get her into trouble.
Jadzia Dax. Especially in the Worf Dax relationship.
Honorable Mention Grilka, Great fun character well played by Mary Kay Adams

Not Faves.
Beverly Crusher. Just grated on me im afraid.
Katheryn Janeway. ditto Both characters are so superior and full of themselves, Janeway to the extent I cant actually sit through a complete episode of Voyager.

Beverly was never a problem for me, just bad Beverly episodes like the one she fell in love with a ghost......

Least Favorite: I pretty much like all the female characters but if I had to choose one, probably Deanna Troi.
- Could this be why?

Apologies, @tomalak301 :) I threw this together yesterday for the Art Forum, then came here and couldn't help notice your least favourite choice, so I simply had to use it here!
[TNG screencaps from TrekCore.com and "Lying" from Saga by Brian K Vaughan & Fiona Staples]

For the record, Troi isn't my favourite character (although she is up there).

Favorites

1 Kira=Kick ass but also could be emotional vunerable. Also liked that she wasn't Starfleet. Also was religious which even though I am not myself I feel it gives the character extra depth. I find it unrealistic how many aithest you find on tv because that doesn't feel very plausible.

2 Torres=I like her much in the same way I like KIra. Except she wasn't religious. I also liked they didn't overdo the Klingon Look.

3 Janeway=Strong smart Captain. Mulgrew really brought the character to life. Even the bad and sometimes inconsitent writing kind of helps by making her look like a loose cannon that you never now what to expect from her.

4 Ezri=The girl next door character that anyone feels like you could be friends with or even fall in love with. She was very kind and kind of eccentric which is great.

5 Tilly=Her appeal is much like that of Ezri only she also serves as comic relief and as the everyman. I also love that she is overweight and has imperfect skin. Just like every real human being on this planet including ourselves. I get tired of seeing super model types on tv. The actress was the second best pure actor as well on the show after Lorca and she will have the biggest post-Discovery career over everyone else.

Worst

1 T'Pol=I hated how much a carbon Copy of Seven of NIne she is. Blaylock can't really act and if your going to copy someone I did not like they were going with that Dominatrix,Ice Queen type of character. I like characters who express emotions very freely instead of keeping them deep inside unless you have a super caliber of actor like Patrick Stewart. It takes a special talent to pull that off and she wasn't it.

2 Crusher=I like the character but others have to make the list so she makesi t simply for being kind of bland.

3 Uhura from TOS=I know she was important in terms of being a black women on the bridge in 60's era tv and I do like the actress but she was basically the ships glorified telephone operator. I much prefer the Abrams version of the character.

4 Moogie=I liked her in the first episode were we see Quark go home in season 3 but the new actress didn't bring much to the character IMO in future ep's though it didn't help we only seemed to see her in very bad episodes like "Ferengi Love SOngs" and the Quark in Drag episode.

5 Sara Sisko/Wormhole Prophet=Not sure I liked the idea of SIsko being part Prophet and thus the character never stood a chance of being interesting.

I think your take on who this character is "supposed to be" is 180 degrees off. The entire point of Burnham is that she is flawed, arrogant, and often wrong...and the first season was her starting to grow and mature away from that as her arrogance and flaws have grave consequences.

She was never, ever meant to be an "ace whose instincts are always to be trusted". She was meant to be a massively flawed person who must now grow and heal.

Edit: Also, coming face-to-face in conflict with the people responsible for brutally murdering your family in front of you and being ravaged by severe radiation poisoning is not "having a mental breakdown over nothing." At least, not by my read.

Sorry for the late reply. I've been busy IRl. Anyway, I get that. I still don't like her. It makes no sense that we see her having risen so high in Starfleet with a reputation for being the ace, when she is bad at literally everything she does in he first two episodes.

Least Favourite : Kira. She was religious and a terrorist.

Can't argue with the religious part.

She was a "terrorist" in the same way Paul Revere was a terrorist.

Unless you're taking the Cardassian view of the Occupation.

Which would say a lot about this person's character really.....

I remember disliking Pulsaki when Season 2 first aired but as time wore on I came around to her as a balance to Picard. She'd go toe to toe with him without fear. I count her as a favourite now.

I never warmed to Kira, the character was a Ro Mk 2 after Michelle Forbes declined but whereas Ro seemed genuinely angry she could keep it bottled. Kira just seemed whiney and lashed out at anyone regardless of whether they'd been involved with Bajor or not. Definitely bottom of the list.

I agree with the Pulaski part of your post. People tend to dislike her because her relationship with Data. I never compared Ro and Kira, though. They were two different characters. And Kira turned from an angry Bajoran in fear of her planet being controlled by the Federation to a loyal friend for Sisko and many of the other DS9 characters. She had even great moments with Quark and came to respect Bashir. I love how she saw that Cardassia has to offer more than just oppressors.
Ro was a character who had only few moments to shine. She got more depth in the novels. I can understand Michelle Forbes, who didn't want to play a regular character. But it would have been nice to see Ro as a guest from time to time.
