Agents of SHIELD. Season 1 Discussion Thread

What if the closing scene of tomorrow's episode is something like:

(Coulson's team and Fury walk into another one of his secret bases)
Fury: You want proper answers about Project T.A.H.I.T.I.? Here you go.
(blue-skinned alien steps out of the shadows)
Alien: Greetings. I am Mar-Vell of the Kree Empire.
(Coulson's team's mouths all drop open)

I'd change it slightly:

Alien: Greetings. I am Mar-Vell, Captain of the Kree Empire.

Coulson: Captain... Mar... Vell?

Trip: Shazam!

ABC has announced that Agents of SHIELD will air at 9pm on Tuesdays in the 2014-2015 season. Agent Carter will air in the same timeslot when Agents of SHIELD is on hiatus.

Agent Carter will be in the proper timing to lead up to Age of Ultron. Maybe they'll revisit the human torch android seen at the World's Fair in Captain America: The First Avenger (the human torch android being used by Ultron as a template for building The Vision in the comics).

Agent Carter is going to be on in the Winter to bridge the gap during the SHIELD break, but I have to imagine that SHIELD will be back by late January, early February, so it'll really be the one in position to lead into Age of Ultron. Plus it doesn't really make a ton of sense for Carter to do that since it's a prequel.

So, as a prequel, Agent Carter wouldn't make a good prequel?

I think he meant an immediate lead-in the way AoS lead straight into TWS and picked up right after.

As for the "Synthetic Man" thing as a bit foreshadowing, it's certainly a possibility.

Wow.

What a season finale.

Samuel L. Jackson!

But now we just have more questions.

What were those symbols that Garrett and Coulson were drawing? Kree script?

What's the deal with Billy Koenig? Twin brother or Life Model Decoy?

Who is Skye's father? An Inhuman? Is Raina one too?

Good show. Glad we finally got an explanation for Coulson being brought back. Fitz was fantastic. Glad Ward lived.

The only part I didn't like was that I have no idea what happened with Garrett. The timing seemed really strange there.

Not sure what Quinn can do next season as far as government connections go. It seems to me the US military is going to be highly inclined to trust Coulson, not Quinn.

So, Skye's dad was pretty creepy looking. Was he dripping blood?

- Awesome Whedonism with the killing of Garrett.

- Ward isn't dead and the show has been renewed so I'm maintaining that he still has a chance to rejoin the group, after serving as a villain or in a Hannibal Lecter-type role for a while of course.

- So, Fury made clones of Patton Oswalt and placed them in a number of bases.

- At least they can still justify the title of the show. I wonder what direction SHIELD will take in the movies now. Maybe sojourner was right. Maybe the movies will take a direction that doesn't involve SHIELD, allowing the show to not have to keep in step with whatever the movies do.

- What was Coulson drawing at the end?

Oh save me from any more witty banter on this show. Coulson and Fury were nearly unwatchable together. Fitz and Simmons were very good. Loved the noise maker and cant wait until they make one. Garrets death was just poorly done. Real solid fight scene with Ward, always enjoy the use of power tools in combat. So will Skye end up being a Deviant? Looking forward to next season.

What were those diagrams that Garrett and Coulson were drawing?
Was that a diagram? Or was it an alien language? Did we see the same thing back in episode 4, Eye Spy?

Circuit diagrams for Ultron?

A map of the Kree empire?

What's the deal with Billy Koenig?
He seemed pretty cheerful and programmed. Robot? LMD?

I'm wondering what's us with Fitz. Do they have some story idea planned, or did the actor just want an opt-out?

Very much enjoyed it and glad that Shield finished its season strong.

Was pleasantly surprised to see SLJ in this episode for more than an extended cameo. Definitely added a presence to things. Though anyone who appoints this Phil Coulson as director need their heads examined. Get ready for a lot of sanctimonious speeches and hypocrisy from Coulson, folks!

The May/Ward fight was really good and had the great 'You were never on top line!"

I wasn't interested at all with the Coulson writing symbols scenes but am very much looking forward to next season.
