Agents of SHIELD. Season 1 Discussion Thread

I thought last week that, dramatically, Ward made sense because he's been the focus all season. But after Garrett, I thought that ship had sailed.

Still...it's possible Ward is trying to infiltrate Hydra...going after the bigger problem.

Well, he just murdered three agents, so unless it is a really elaborate setup, he is full Hydra (with some feelings for Skye that may have him expressing some regrets?)

He killed three agents along with the three guys he murdered before this episode. I would say Ward's Hydra.

Wow. I certainly wasn't expecting that. They did a great job tying into The Winter Soldier. You definitely need to see that movie before you see this episode as it pretty much spoils it.

- Did Garrett spill his coffee at the beginning when he had to take his plane on a loop de loop?

- Not the best episode but it really picked up at the end.

- I figured tha they'd find a way to work around the events in The Winter Soldier but I guess they couldn't like they could with Thor 2.

Still...it's possible Ward is trying to infiltrate Hydra...going after the bigger problem.
Good point.

Killing Hand to do so? Possibly, but that seems extreme.
Good point.

Does this mean the end of Ward as we know it?

And does this mean the end of Ward and Skye?

We'll see...Garrett didn't seem sure that Ward would turn...in the preview he's saying "welcome to Hydra", indicating that Ward wasn't already in. If you want to get into something like that, you have to prove yourself. And some of you insisted Hand wasn't bad despite everything being set up to make her look that way.

He's trying to get in and root Hydra out...cutting off the head wouldn't have done that, it's their motto.

This episode was almost as good as TWS...sure glad I went out of my way to see that first.

It's possible that Ward is taking his "Protect Skye" agenda to even more ridiculous extremes but if Hand and those two agents really are dead, then there's no turning back for him.

Really shook up the status quo, I wonder if it might turn off some who liked it as a light adventure show. They did a good job bringing the paranoia of TWS to the small screen. They got me, I didn't see all the twists and double-twists soming. It will be interesting to see where they go with this as I guess they're probably bound by what they're planning to do in the movies at least in a big picture sense.

I liked the scene with Fitz and the gun and his uncomfortableness with it, they don't do that often in shows.

If anything, the doublecrosses worked better on the small screen because they hid the ball longer.

While I have no problem with the show spoiling things, that trailer is a touch too spoiler-heavy for those who haven't seen the movie. I'm curious how this experiment will play out.

In other news, The Goldbergs is tying itself down to an event with a specific date...even though they've probably already referenced things from after April 21, 1986.

Wondering how long before the closing logo animation gets uploaded to YouTube or Vimeo or somesuch.
