It might be the Guardians of the Galaxy prelude since the Marvel Cinematic Universe wiki says he's Sakaaran in the movie.

Yeah, that was what he is now. I searched but couldn't find the interview anywhere. It just stuck my mind because before that everyone had been calling him a Kree, and the comic book version is Kree.

...has been spotted on the Age of Ultron set.

 

Even if it's just a couple of minutes, i think they'd make the most of it, and AoS fans would be very happy to see them

 

It would help mollify a number of viewers, yes...

 

It's nice to see to movies appease to the series.

 

^Well, they're both Joss Whedon-centric as well as Marvel, so it's not a stretch.

 

Since Age of Ultron will be continuing the HYDRA story thread from The Winter Soldier, S.H.I.E.L.D. will probably be an important plot point. With all the story threads in the movie though, how much time could they dedicate to Coulson revealing himself to the Avengers?

I don't think Tripplet ever said who his grandfather was. We can assume it was Gabriel Jones because it seems they share they same race but it could have been Dum Dum Dugan.

Isn't "Antoine" a French name? That could indicate that Triplett's grandfather is Jaques Dernier.

 

Surprised there hasn't been a poll about those two options yet. Possibly as part of the Season Two thread...?

 

Since all S.H.I.E.L.D. agents except Nick Fury, Coulson's team, and Billy Koenig are HYDRA, dead, in custody, or in new occupations, I wonder who are Coulson's top candidates for (re)recruitment. Maria Hill strikes me as a priority, but she seemed pretty hellbent on being on Stark Industries.
