Seriously, when they remade The Wolf Man a few years ago, I remember hearing that some people accused it off ripping off Twilight!

I've actually seen sources attribute "Revenge is a dish best served cold" to The Wrath of Khan, rather than Les Liaisons Dangereuses or the various other prior sources for that saying. Seriously, why do so many people assume that nobody ever created anything before they were born?

Absolutely. I think we're just talking about the general reaction to the flying car scene.

And, of course, that whole gag at the end of the Back to Future is predicated on the fact that flying cars are a cliche of Golden Age sci-fi futurism . . . like jet-packs, food pills, and robot servants!

Another example is the "comparing scars" scene from 'Chasing Amy'. In the DVD commentary Kevin Smith notes that a number of fans asked if that scene was a reference to 'Lethal Weapon 3'. Apparently those guys hadn't seen 'Jaws'.

I blame Tarantino for that, even if it was probably meant as a joke.

To be fair though, who the hell looks up every quote and turn of phrase they come across to find out where it originated? It actually reminds me of something I read a while back about how many common turns of phrase are attributed to Shakespeare. Not the famous quotes or soliloquies, but simple things that most people would never guess like "be all and end all", "all of a sudden", "dashed to pieces", "good riddance". Really simple common stuff that we use all the time without most of us knowing why. IIRC the one they really caught me out was "the game is afoot". I'd just assumed it originated with Arthur Conan Doyle, apparently not.

Well I don't think this is from the FIRST time it was shown - but it's still from the classic Kirby era

And lest we forget... Howard Stark was working on a flying car back in Captain America...

So it's not exactly far fetched for the series - I was actually hoping those Acura SUVs they roll around in would fly too.

Pretty underwhelming show, but holding overall judgement to see if the threads tie together. This thing was feather light, disjointed and badly written. The characters are appealing enough, but not as SHIELD agents. Not believable.

I know it was in the comics first but when it comes to live action (and theatrical finishes like that) someone who was a kid during BttF can't help but to be reminded of it.

You mean you weren't thinking of a comic or movie you'd never seen made decades before you were born?

I think there is a big difference between 'when I saw this I thought of Back to the Future' and 'they did this as an homage to Back to the Future'.

Episode 3, "The Asset" will feature Ian Hart as comics character Dr. Franklin Hall aka Gravitron. Everything just credits him as Dr. Franklin Hall though, so they haven't said how much of his comic book history will play a role.

I was thinking the same thing, except I assume Stan Lee plotted the scene. And we all know that Stan's an expert in hot air...

I wouldn't be surprised if Kirby came up with that. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if Kirby came up with that whole sequence and all Lee did was the dialog.

I would have rather seen them do the armed style in the comic page Nick Ryder posted. Armed pivotal wheel-jets seems more realistic than stationary ones.
