I have to agree that Sam has been annoying throughout the entire series. (With the exception of the parts of episode 5 when she's dealing with her emissary status and looking up Sisko.)
I doubt he is a fan. I do think their are bigots though who do like Star Trek. Bigots like lots of things.

I know what he said about Shatner but I doubt he ever actually watched any of the episodes. I think he was just trying to take advantage of the moment of something that was trendy and that was complaining about Starfleet Academy to put in the latest rant about wokeness.
There’s a picture of him posted somewhere on the BBS where a young Miller is in a TOS Starfleet uniform.

He responded well. The hate comments are a small minority. I hope. Im guessing some might be people that didnt like a Klingon being gay. Maybe because they feel it doesnt jive with the Klingon culture of previous centuries so they are saying idiotic things. Funny but people seemed to have no problem with the gay characters of Staments and Culber on STD. Not that I recall anyway.

That is an excellent question for another part of the board, methinks.
Filthy racism has no part in cultural discourse, disliking something is fine but Karim the actor is just doing his job.
That being said I get this feeling these social media "Responding to Hate Comments" are being forced by higher ups upon the actors causing them more pain than they would just by ignoring that part of fandom.
Several actors have come forward and said the studios actually mandate actors to get active on social media cuz the dinosaurs running the companies have zero clue how any of it works.

In some measures, yes in others no. Season 5 Discovery made the Neilson list more times than P3. Personally I find season 5 much better overall.

We've had several gay characters in STD. No one cared. The hate mail over Jeri Ryan's character was after her character was established and a lot of fanboys at the time who idolized her were probably angry that they were going to make her a lesbian while thinking she was heterosexual for a couple years. So it ruined their stupid fantasy. Lol. Hate over a black woman? But no hate over Avery Brooks as I recall. I think Michael Burnham was hated because she committed mutiny the first episode not because she was a black woman.

Thise articles didnt sight any fans that were complaining. It was an assumption if people would have started to whine. You guy act like it was the 1960s. No one cared about her race except maybe older people who lived in the 1960s and still had their hang ups about race or sexuality.

Yep, you are definitely remembering wrong, @TRON JA307020. Even on this very board we had plenty of racist idiots posting racist crap about Michael Burnham. Same for homophobic comments about Stamets / Culber and transphobic comments when Adira and Gray were introduced.
I certainly remember people declaring very loudly all the way back in '93 that the only reason Sisko was black was because the studio wanted to check a box on a list.
