Horseshoe Bay is still the San Francisco area. Same difference.
The closest Navy Nuclear ships east are in Virginia, there are none in Alameda.Whales to the North. Nuclear Wessles to the East.
I do get tired of seeing this argument against any criticism of a series.
Are there people who just look for issues with a show? Sure, they're around. Is that most people who give negative views or criticisms of a show? Definitely not.
Frankly, I think if so many people wouldn't jump to that as a reason why someone doesn't like something, you'd get more honest scores and opinions of episodes or shows.
"This episode was very slow paced, the character work just didn't work well for me, and the plot didn't seem to make a great deal of sense. I give it an 8!"
Really?! It's almost like some people start at 5 instead if 0 just so they don't appear too negative. It makes it difficult to take some of those reviews seriously, just as others who only give 1s and 2s in their reviews would be hard to take seriously. (The above example is not a precise one from anybody, but it was the quickest way to make the point.) Now if one feels despite all the criticism an episode would still be an 8, fine. You feel how you feel. But at least consider the possibility that doing such things would give some others room to pause and wonder, "Seriously?" Especially if you put similar criticism on another episode or show and put that score as a 5.

Yay! Both Karim Diané and Kerrice Brooks have been added to the FedCon roster! Can’t believe I’m going to see them come May.

I had no idea! Interesting. I wonder why on the show they didn’t locate the Academy on the San Fransisco side then. Any guesses? The north side of the bridge is in Marin County.
Horseshoe Bay, where the Academy is based I believe is technically part of Sausalito.
Yes! And Zoë Steiner too! So they now have all the main cadets assembled. I wonder if they plan to add even more folks from the show.Looks like George Hawkins is confirmed too.

I also just looked up where the “Boldly Go SF” event at Pier 39 from last week was located and it doesn’t even really look very close to where the Academy is set on the show. Interesting.

Exactly. If I dont like an episode i give it a bad rating. A one to a five. Usually lower than a five to be honest.
In order to be objective we would have to let go of all preconceived notions of Star Trek. That’s fair. At one point someone argued that how can we not be objective about Star Trek. Well, honestly, for me it’s a feeling. I don’t sit there with a rubric to rate the show. I do it based on my emotion in the moment. Everyone has their different ways of rating shows. That’s ultimately fine by me. Whether positive or negative. People who try to suggest there is something objective about this are kidding themselves in suggesting that we all look at things the same way.

Who's going first?
The Doc seems very anti-mentoring right now.I hope by season's end or in season 2 Jay-Den spends more time with the Doctor considering he wants to be a doctor himself, you'd think he'd want to enlist him as a mentor.
He does seem to have gotten weary watching close friends die over the centuries but he has bonded with sam over both being photonic. Maybe he does spend a good chunk of time teaching Jay-Den about doctoring in classes, we just see comparitively little of what's going on. Episode 1 was set in autumn and now episode 7 started spring so there are probably a lot of interesting stories going unseen. The Doc seems very anti-mentoring right now.

I guess it depends on what they consider autumn and spring term whether they start with the seasons or if the terms happen to have equinoxes and solstices in them. From dates and time periods, it appears that 1.07 may be at the end of January.

We know 1x05 starts 89 days after 1x01 and ends 96 days after, and we know 1x07 takes place a month after 1x06, do we know how long there is between 1x05 and 1x06.
1x01 - Day 1
1x02 - Day 2 (but hints at minor jump early in the episode between room assignments and then Caleb/Darem objecting to theirs)
1x03 - Day 22 (Derem states its been 3 weeks since the start of 1x02) and episode takes place over avout 4 days
1x04 - Day 29+ (its 3 days into the deep space mission)
1x05 - Day 89 to 96 (Sams narration says 96 days, but then flashes back a week)
1x06 - X
1x07 - Day X + 32 (its been a month since Caleb spoke to Terima, and Ocam told him she was out of the coma, so 32 days post 1x06)
There are a few clues to help you out.
Episode Three - Vitus Reflux is given a stardate of 868858.7 = 10-Nov-3191
Right now the producers are being vague about when the show take place, only in the "3190s"; however, it must be after Discovery and internal evidence points to about 3195 for the show's first season.
So, if you adjust 10-Nov-3191 to 10-Nov-3195, then you can work it out from there.
1x01 - Day 1
1x02 - Day 2 = 10-Oct-3195 (Three weeks before 1x03)
1x03 - Stardate 868858.7 (10-Nov-3195)
1x04 - Stardate 868943.8 (Dec 8th-11th, 3195)
1x05 - Day 89-96 = Jan 7th-14th, 3196
1x06 - Day X
1x07 - Day X + 32
Depending upon where Episode 6 lands - Episodes 6 and 7 probably take place in late January 3196 to early February 3196.
Hope that helps.
Theyre speding too much time on the boring young adult romance stuff. They have two relationship triangles formed that are a waste of time in my opinion. The doctor is pretty much a background character. Hes probably gotten 10 to 15 minutes of screen time the whole season. He does seem to have gotten weary watching close friends die over the centuries but he has bonded with sam over both being photonic.
