This episode felt a little stretched out to me,
though it was good to give Burnham and Saru perhaps one last adventure. Their relationship has been one of the series' best and so they deserved a good-bye episode. I don't buy L'ak and Moll being strong enough villains to go for ten episodes. Hopefully we'll discover (pun somewhat intended) that they are working for someone else, or that another player will join the game.
I wasn't expecting Moll's tie to Book. At first, I was wondering if she was Romulan. Now that a tie has been established, I would've done a more obvious move and made her Book's daughter, sister, or niece instead. The way they went made the relationship a bit overly complicated (especially for a final season). I'm still not sold on Rennie's character yet, but I do like him joining the crew. I've been hoping that more 32nd Starfleet officers would join Discovery. And I like that he's similar to Burhnam, so now we can see her become more of a mentor, like how Georgiou was with her.

Stopping the action to talk about relationships kills the momentum, but it's such a Discovery thing now, that's just part of their brand.
