+ I absolutely love the villains are just a pair of smugglers and feel like they are so much of a breath of fresh air after the fact that universal threats were overwhelming all the other seasons. They're also incredibly fun villains as well.

But are they the only baddies? Something’s a little fishy with Rayner.

I gave the premiere a 7, and I’m giving this one a 6. The journey continues and the ending with Reynar becoming first officer was a little predictable. I did like that this episode allowed Sara and Burnham to have a mission together. They were always so separated so I appreciated the character bonding.

I’m getting a little annoyed at Tilly. She makes comments on things that don’t really need to be commented and scenes that are made to be humorous seems cringy and takes me out of the moment. The whole “eyes peeled” was a big example of this. That “cliche” didn’t need to be explained.

I mean, as obvious as it is, I hope its wrong. Could be Kovich playing a long game too.

you are basically saying that the audience is basically teenagers and are dumb. I would hope the audience is better than that (teens included, by the way.).
No, no I am not.

I explain turns of phrase to my coworkers (20 to 30 year olds), to my teen clients, to my kids, and many others.

And no, I do not expect the audience to be better than that. I don't assume that people know what I know.

Btw. I love that they canonized that the Romulans built their houses with false doors etc. I always loved that aspect of Romulan culture from the novels. Not just false doors, but to navigate within the houses one needs to transverse mazes, make a wrong turn end you end up not in the kitchen, but dead.

The false door thing came from Picard and Michael Chabon's notes first, not the novels.

yeah i'm not sure about this. I think it gives too many Lorca vibes. I think we're supposed to be mistrustful of him but his character arc is going to be about how he goes from being Lorca and turns into Pike.

I think he's being set up as the No. 2 so Book can claim it at the end.

Another 8, like the first episode. I quite enjoy the puzzle aspect especially because of it being a follow-up to The Chase, a great episode of TNG.

Will we see Saru week to week still? I hope so being as this is the final season.

At least Tilly is back!
