A funny scene from a great episode at the end of season 1 doesn't need to be expanded into a whole episode. Too much.

There's just no redeeming Peanut Hamper...

Maybe by scrapping her for spare parts...

Winding up in a crate warehouse is exactly where she belonged

Not as poetic as drifting endlessly through deep space... but not bad.

Peanut Hamper, the Sexocomp...

Her and FISTO from Fallout New Vegas...

The fact the Daystrom Institute has to keep a vault full of Evil AI Computers is a great concept. Starfleet has run into so many over the previous 200-odd years that they need a dedicated room with escape-proof lockers to contain them.

Emphasis on ESCAPE PROOF...

They now need to do a real Peanut Hamper & Agimus team up.:techman:

Anything to get Jeffrey Combs to return. And PH's voice actress wasn't half bad either.

Well, this is the same Federation that around this same timeframe is using obsolete EMH Mark 1s to perform mining duties and that constitutes a form of slave labor since those programs had no say over their use as manpower for such jobs.

Like Doc Brown, the Federation is allergic to synthetics.

Peanut Hamper really is a little shit. The threat of summoning the Borg was just too perfect for words!

This story for me has the most rewatch value because it's an utterly entertaining and fascinating exploration of the misfit in the advanced culture of Starfleet. The Cerritos officers display remarkable restraint with that PITA. There isn't a single wasted beat or line, and it was richly rewarding to see the true colors fully revealed in the Exocomp. Kether Donohue is a gem.

The opener with the melancholy title sequence was an unexpected and delightful surprise. Definite sequel spice...

To be fair, this is after the Doctor exposed that with PHOTONS BE FREE.

Though I totally hope we get a sequel to this episode called THE WRATH OF PEANUT HAMPER.

They tried to take Data's daughter without his or Picard's consent, and it looked like they would have succeeded if she hadn't died.

There was also something about The Doctor and the rights to his holonovel.
