What a giant pile of shit. Easily the worst episode of Lower decks. A nothing side character gets a whole episode wasted on them. No good jokes, the story overall was garbage, this was just a miserable 24ish minutes.

Maybe with good reason. Has anyone ever checked the ratio of asshole to non-asshole AIs for Trek characters?
I would be curious to know how many positive AI interactions the Federation has had. Data and Zora, but then you have Lore, M5, Vaal, Mudd's androids, RUK, Korby, the robots from "Probe" on Voyager, the holograms killing Hirogen. Probably more.

Are the intercouse scenes meant to be icky? Because otherwise they just challenge some people’s preconceptions. The universe of Star Trek is filled with both humanoids and non-humanoids. There will be pairings between consenting adults of wildly different species.
There have been examples in Trek:
Crusher and the Anaphasic lifeform.
Odo and Kira.
Craft rummaging through Zara’s innards.
The Doctor and anyone.
V’ger and Decker.

LDS has the potential to branch out from regular Furries into strange new worlds.

Kirk and Andrea.

Mudd and his robot army.

Wesley and the Dauphin.

This is honestly starting to remind me to the reaction to the Frank Grimes episode of the Simpsons when I was a teenager. I thought that episode was absolutely brilliant, but so many Simpsons fans hated it.

Come to think of it, I also thought the last episode of Seinfeld was brilliant, which many people hated.

EAS gave this a 6.

So far his highest rated episode this season is Reflections with an 8.

Another 7 from me. A nicely spun tale with some world building thrown in, a chance for the show to look gorgeous outside of the confines of a Federation starship and cool to have a self-contained episode from outside the perspective of the main characters mostly. I'm enjoying it, but still not feeling the gags.
