never quite understood why one is beautiful and no one complains, while the other one is the worst thing ever.

1. It's not the worst thing ever. The Paris/Janeway Salamander Sex affair was the true nadir.
2. The quality of the episode itself didn't really help much.
3. Odo/Kira was entirely consentual.
4. And be that as it may, I was never that would about O/K. I liked it better than Bashir/Ezri, but that's not saying much.
5. Any of those romances (aside from the scene where Beverly is basically assaulted) is less icky then that bird dude shagging an evil sentient metal floating beach ball.

A beach ball with a replicator. Presumably Peanut Hamper can come up with any... apparatus... required. Let's be thankful the scene cut out where it did.

I wonder how things worked on her end, though.

(Any Questionable Content fans here? Suddenly I'm thinking of Sven and May getting together, back when May didn't have a human-standard number of holes.)

She probably faked an orgasm.

Can’t believe the high ratings for this one. I found it almost unbearable to watch. I don’t think I’ve ever had to switch off a Trek episode after 10 minutes just to get a break from it and then wonder if I could actually stomach the remainder. I wanted to throw something at the screen if I had to endure much more of PH’s grossly shrill antics. The previous week was so fantastic, as well! This is like a “Trials and Tribble-ations” to “Let He Who is Without Sin” level of quality whiplash.

Last week was a mediocre disappointment, and this is the best episode of the season to date, IMHO.
