Spoilers Strange New Worlds General Discussion Thread

I'm sure that once They catch wind of the fan complaints over the map, whoever screwed the pooch will be a lot more careful next time.

That makes the third pad prop on the show lol. They brought back the TOS looking one we saw in DSC Season 2, there's the flat grey one, and now this one.

The map is based off Stellar Cartography 2nd Edition which was in turn based off the Star Charts book from 2003, and then the shows art team added some new planets created for the new shows.

The problem is Stellar Cartography is set in 2381 I believe. So it has planets the Federation hasn't even discovered yet in 2260.

I remember a map screen in Discovery Season 1 showing "The Path of the USS Enterprise-A", which represented the ship going to the galactic core in Final Frontier, it was there because it was in 'Star Charts', the art team just copied the maps.

Four episodes in and this is everything I said about The Orville: Warm fuzzy Star Trek nostalgia. Just this one has the actual Enterprise in it. And it's a bit less heavy on the preaching, at least so far.

As soon as this series starts preaching or becomes political I will stop watching it. I would also watch the Orville but it sadly doesn’t have an actual Enterprise in it…

Every Star Trek series is political.
With all due respect, maybe you are reading too much in to it. Star Trek is a welcome escape from such things and I would like the current production team to keep it that way. As soon as politics are introduced, things will start to get controversial and people will start to argue, flame and troll each other. That is not what Star Trek is about. :scream:
