So to see SNW's Transporter go from that size to what we see in TOS, it does make sense.
They also made several other improvements by the time of TOS, like putting carpet down so that transporter operators weren't blinded by the reflections.Actually, it makes no sense whatsoever, because the differences are more than just making the transporter room smaller.
