Nope. Book hit him, knocking him into the table, and then Michael punched him when he started to stand back up. I remember because I rewound it and watched it again. Satisfying.

A good question. I suspect we'll find out very soon.

Too bad they haven't figured out transwarp beaming by the 32nd century. Just beam back the mcguffin with the tracker on it and Book and Tarka are foiled.

I'd actually dread going into a support group filled with overtly emotional people who cannot look at a situation objectively.
I'd like to hear both sides for one thing... not just constant wishy washy nonsense that paints the situation in a ridiculously unrealistic way and tells you 'everything will be allright' when they just don't know.
Its one thing to provide encouragement, but it doesn't have to come in the form of insicerity or wishful thinking.

Spock said in the Kelvin timeline that Montgommery Scott came up with equations for TW beaming (he gave the equation to younger Scotty after all).
So, they DID figured it out by the late 24th century... its just this technology was apparently never used (or it was ignored) for some reason (in fact, this tech alone easily bypasses the Burn when you think about it).

How do you know that is now something that is now common in Founder society. He could be a blacksheep/outcast or one of the 100

700 years is a long time for a society to change that suffered a devastating, foundation shaking event, especially if Weyoun 8 wasn't just blustering and the Dominion hadn't lost a war in 10,000 years.

I believe you've never had the moment when you're trying to solve a problem and get stuck and can't move forward, but an outsider arrives and can see the details you missed

not to mention the influence of Odo. He probably made other changlings curious about life outside of the link.

    Owo totally looked weak.

And MIchael looked like she was going to let her friend get beaten to death.

    Also they were both lying.

Owo lost on purpose twice, so that that the odds raised to 45:1.

    It's called hustling.

    Owo and Michael are hustlers.

Burnham knocked him down with one punch after Book and Owo had both beaten him up first (without any struggle).

I'm not saying it's unrealistic, I just didn't like that the main driver of the A-plot was the one strolled up and solved the B-plot (if you can even call it that). Saru and Culber did almost nothing, throw 'em a bone Disco writers.

Support Group!? I wouldn't invite them to an execution. Too rough for the room.

As usual my favorite part is when they actually talk about Species 10C.

They mention the Galactic Barrier in pretty much every episode. If they don’t show it before the season ends I’m going to run around naked covered in chicken blood while drinking Jolt cola in front of Alex Kurtzman’s house.

I think perhaps you're forgetting the 100 Changelings that left the Founders the same time that Odo did, and were spread across the galaxy.

A pretty uninspiring offering as the return episode, filled with cliches and a strange very quickly disposed of subplot with Culber. It wasn't terrible, the dialogue was better than it has been, but it lacked anything that we haven't seen many times before on Trek or elsewhere and all hinged on this underexplained setup where Michael and Owo could take down the big muscle man no problem but couldn't grab Risian Dr McKay and get him back to the shuttle. They don't need to stop Book, he doesn't have the weapon by himself so he's no threat.

Omega particles is the answer then, what we'd guessed for season 3 emerges in season 4.

I enjoyed watching this episode. Certainly was not the best episode around, but certainly not the worst either. I enjoyed the bar scenes alot and was thrilled to see a changeling once again, who even transformed into a tribble. The casino master was my favorite character from this episode, the actor seemingly had equally fun playing him. Something was off about Owosekun, though. She seemed older than usual for some reason, perhaps it was the lighting or something.

I wonder how this will go. Book and Tarka will be stopped, of course, but there must be some kind of a sacrifice before they see the light, if they ever do.

    8/10 from me.
