I want it to be a backdoor pilot for a Star Trek:Captain Pike series.

I will be glad for the season to be over. Mostly steered clear of TOS for the last 14 weeks in order to try to give Discovery a fair shake.

I hope this episode is good. If it makes last week's episode pointless I will be kinda mad.

Saru will emerge from the wormhole in a skant, and they will spend all of Season Three trying to fix the timeline to undo this canon violation

True but I think some services like DCU and Stargate Streaming are a bit too niche to really ever be successful (and that is from somebody who likes the shows that DCU has done...not as big a fan of SG Origins). I'm not sure you can go that nich and be successful

Same here. A lot of 2-part finales (not just ST but many shows) have good setup penultimate episodes and fail at the payoff. I hope this one doesn't fall in that category.

They really need to 'stick the landing' on this one. TPTB flub this one and I'm not sure a lot of folks will return for season 3.

Same. They spent a lot of time setting up the sacrifice of the crew as a unit. I don't want to see that forgotten, rewritten, or redirected so that it loses impact, didn't happen, or becomes unnecessary.

Agreed. They need to do well with this. New Doctor Who is the show I was thinking of that has a few seasons where finale part 1 was better then part 2. That also wasn't on a pay service though. They need to end it with a solid conclusion, a nice big bang, and at least a little tease of season 3.

My prediction "Sh-tuff" will happen, all kinds of "sh-tuff" will happen, and when the "sh-tuff" happens...
The so called 'purists' will rant again how it doesn't fit in with the rest of Star Trek again, yes, again, again ...
CBS will make "a whole lotta moolah" maybe will see Paramont / CBS remerge into a whole... ( 2020 ? )
Based on results of this season CBS will go forward on many projects surrounding the "Star Trek" cinematic universe...
    Star Trek : Pike ? ( maybe )

I doubt that the show could lose many viewers at this point; they're committed.

Really excited for tonight. I still wish we'd get some "2 hour movie events", ala Voyager, and that they just gave us a week break last week and combined the two tonight. Really miss those "tele-movies, something Voyager did very right.

I'm guessing they go into the future, either to where Burnham's mom is, or they continue the 'Calypso' story in season 3, or both.

I will also do the same. If everyone did this, there would be much more incentive for CBS to have multiple Star Trek shows running year round.
