You pretty much have to be fair!

There's a moment that leaves room for interpretation. Krall see's his reflection in a shard of glass, pauses then grabs it. It could be seen as him thinking as he see's it, then acting on the impulse to stab Kirk - but to me it looked more like seeing his real self for the first time and having a brief moment of contemplation.... only for that reminder of who he was anger him and resume the fight.

Krall's arc was fine as is n my view; not every bad guy can, or should be, redeemed. The down side was that they didn't hammer home the story of why he turned, but it would have been a bit much to throw in at that stage of the film, and having too much background early on would kill that eventual reveal. So I was fine with it not getting too much depth.

Well the only plot they never regurgitated was anything to do with Pakleds.

    That was a blessing actually

ST BEY had really great moments and ideas. IMHO the cast and junior production was in the project all the way. Lin and Pegg did an outstanding job.

Is there any indication Lin wants to return to helm a 4th one? The third one didn't do well at the box office.
The film was okay, I thought the JJ ones were more exciting despite the 1st one was A New Hope beat for beat and the 2nd was just... cool looking to just look at. Beyond felt like same old hat to me but the one element which stand out was McCoy's role; it was nice to see Karl Urban flesh his character than aping DeForest Kelley in the first two films.

He probably would if asked. I really enjoy all three films, but I think it would be nice to see Lin have another go.

I'm not sure if Tarantino is interested in JJTrek but could be interested in rethinking the concept and go with something fresh and new but has a hint of Star Trek from the 1960's.

I thought he wanted to rework a TOS episode into a full movie "Tomorrow is yesterday" as he likes TOS.

Loves this movie thought the studio under promoted it which is why it might have not made as much as studio might have liked.

I finally bought the movie recently, the longest I've waited to buy any of the Kelvinverse movies. I will do a rewatch soon and see if months away from it have changed my views.

I do hope the Tarrantino Trek movie happens. Well hey if we can live with Discovery why not?

Watched it again after over a year this past weekend. It is definitely the best of the 3 newer films. Makes no sense to me that it's the least successful. In fact, I now think it's one of the best of ALL Trek films.

It's in development hell. Maybe we will, maybe we won't.

Even if we don't get a 4th Kelvin movie, we'll definitely get another Star Trek movie one day.
