Walking Dead Season 7 Discussion - Spoilers possible!

I think he was maybe referring to hiding guns before they went into Terminus as well.

Yep. Basically just saying that he understands the urge to be cautious and hold something in reserve when you're having a hard time trusting someone, but stealing food from the community is inexcusable.

Negan said that he was not going to take any food and then took the deer.

That was on a lark
You either offer up full "accommodation" or you shoot through that gate into Negan's shadow and go for the straight up fight.

Service"--
Father Gabriel scaring Negan was priceless. No one can be sure how Father Gabriel will deal with the situation, since his "faith" line could be read in several ways..

Father Gabriel is on to something. If the Wolves were ISIS, then Negan is al-Assad. His underlings would worry me far more than Negan himself.

If I were in the group, I might suggest Rick lock himself in the cell and play crazy. So Negan has to speak to me.

I'd answer the gate. "Come on in, I'm father Gabriel"

Negan asks about Rick--and I say Rick's insane. In fron of Negans men--mind you--I say "why don't you move your men here, we have empty houses, running water and solar power" The men look more favorably towards me then. Negan would likely be taken aback. If Negan speaks to me in private about undermining him--I tell him that isn't my intent--though it was. Romans may have conquered the Greeks--but whose culture really changed? Zeus became Jove/Jupiter...Athena, Minerva.

That's the long game. I want Negan happy. His braggadocio--his wielding of Lucille, that's as much for his own men as the group.

I would spell out plans to expand walls, something to impress Negan. Let him breathe.

Could the Alexandrians potentially find that giant herd they redirected last season and throw them at Negan?

They don't know his base camp. That's the brilliance of each person saying that he's Negan. You kill a cell--and they spring back up like crabgrass. The original Negan might even be dead for all we know--or never existed. Like the Laughing Man from GITS:SOC

But all I'd have to do is, while discussing all the finds--and putting the saviors at ease...in passing...

"Where was it you said your base was again?"

If the "Morse code blinking" theory pans out, then "East"...

Oh, the Alexandrians learned American Morse code, slightly different from the International Morse code that I learned back in my ham radio days. Anyway, if true, this is a nice nod to Jeremiah Denton.

I wonder if the Navstar satellites are still working properly after a few years of non-maintenance, a functioning GPS network would be a big help.

Watching Talking Dead, yet another Brit? Are there no American actors needing work? ;)

EDIT: Anyone think Xander Berkeley could star in a George Carlin biopic? And does Chris Hardwick have an indoor voice? Does he lay in bed with his wife yelling at her?

Interesting to see Negan-in-training, take out Negan and do you need to worry about the line of succession? Might need to take out more than one guy to finish the Saviors.

That's an interesting ploy, but Negan already comes off as one resenting even the image of religion, so Gabriel being the new "leader" might no go well.

"Go Getters"--

Great to see Rick and Michonne's love still holding.

Maggie and Sasha are the new Dynamic Duo of the zombie apocalypse, but I cannot see any way they can leave Gregory alive--he's ready to cause much pain to Maggie, Sasha and probably Enid.

Speaking of Enid, it was great to see her moments with Carl...but as much as they have bonded, I feel Negan's manipulation of Carl will ruin it.

Hershel's watch is such a fixed reminder of how things should be, along with being a callback to the season 2 moment when he gave it to Glenn. This is the second time the watch was taken from a thief (the first being Gareth's brother). Giving it Enid establishes that the girl is now part of the Green/Rhee lineage of belief--reinforced by Maggie leading her & Sasha in prayer--a great scene showing that faith lives on, no matter what nightmares they experience.

Decent episode, but I LOVED the final scene tonight, in the back of the truck. Can't wait to see where that goes.

Having spoiled myself on the comics via Wikipedia and Youtube i know what will most likely happen and i can't wait, should be one heck of an episode.

So Maggie is taking over Hilltop? Well she sure is not a coward and creep like the current boss and i loved the smirk Jesus gave him when he realized he was outplayed. Makes forming the resistance much easier with Maggie calling the shots behind the curtains with Gregory being the public puppet.

I figure the way this season is going that it will be one hell of a set up until all pieces are aligned with all hell breaking loose in season 8, i doubt they'd rush it and open the inevitable confrontation in the second half of the season already.

Carl will become a problem for Rick if he's "taught" that Negan's New World Order makes sense. Carl told Enid he did not regret seeing the murders of Glenn & Abraham, as it gives him motivation to kill Negan, but if this series has taught us anything, its that being a walking assassin is a dead end--literally, or in rendering the person a bleak, soulless killer, as seen with Sasha in 5B.

Was a little disappointed we didn't get Korl hiding in the truck last episode, but hey, they just delayed it for an episode!

Really, why DON'T bicycles get used more in this world? No need to worry about gas.

The walker attack was silly as fuck, but I was so happy we finally got to see NINJA JESUS!

Jesus AND Korl being at The Sanctuary should prove to be very interesting. Loved bad-ass Maggie in this episode, especially when she punched Greggory and accentuated her name, including taking on Glenn's surname. The battle in the Hilltop "courtyard" with the blaring Gremlin (seriously how many of those running now let alone in the apocalypse?

And then in the very same ep where we got a bike, we got skates later on.
Why do I have a bad feeling that we'll never see either ever again in this show?

At least folks still remember how to ride horses.

Well, I just finished the first Compendium, or the first 48 issues of the comic. The story was familiar enough to just roll through it, and yet, different enough to still surprise me.
