I've never stopped watching a Star Trek series, but I "gave up" on expecting VOY and DSC would really become good or take a place in my heart as TOS, TNG or DS9.
For large parts of the later seasons of VOY and DSC, watching them was more an act of completist obsession than genuine emotional engagement.
However, after all these years, VOY has grown on me and I have a milder view on it now, than I used to. Precondition for that was that I would even rewatch Star Trek I didn't like at first... which I do because there are times when even bad Star Trek satisfies me more than other shows.
