Why do ghosts always wear clothes?

I'm not sure were the lighting hit. It wasn't my first encounter though with spirits. I swear I saw a pair of eyes staring at me in my bedroom once and I screamed. Their is the demon creature I saw when I was half asleep, half awake. Also something use to always hide my car keys and I would never know where they would be.

Jason
Blimey. Trying to parse what you inflict on the Queen's English. OK, forget the lightning. Now, the demons, I'm not so quick to dismiss them. Those carry a bit more weight with me. Your car keys? Give it up. You're a forgetful numpty.

ghosts don't exist.

Tell that to the two ghosts me and my sister saw

By his very premise, I'm thinking he can't do that.

when we called out to them they said nothing!

I'm sorry, but as far as proof of ghosts go, this is pretty flimsy.

Also something use to always hide my car keys and I would never know where they would be.

Why do you think "a supernatural entity hid my keys" is a more logical premise than "sometimes I misplaced my keys"?

Well the keys is more of a joke but the demon stuff felt very real. So did the ghosts but at least that might can be explained. The eyes looking in the window is the one I really can't explain. All I know is I was really scarred and my mom and grandparents even went outside to check things out and didn't find anything. Of course I am someone who can sort of have my mind go places. I swear I once saw myself walking on a distant hill when I was sitting in my car that was broken down at a fast food place. Also some stranger once said to me "See you in later" as he just walked by and had a weird expression on his face so I my mind starts to wonder if he might be some kind of ghostly spirit or from the future or who knows what.

Well I know logically these things seem really impossible. The part of my brain though that thinks "What if?" though always makes me wonder. It's actually kind of nice to ponder the world having some bigger more magical nature to it. I wouldn't bet all my money on it but hey it's impossible to not think about it if you try to be open and curious about things. Not to mention the ability to sometimes never be worried about being seen as dumb. :)

Not always. Sometimes they just wear bikinis.

That poor lady. She must have tried to go swimming, hence the bikini only to find out someone had replaced all the water with blue paint. Must have drowned in it or something but at least she didn't see it coming. Look at the smile on her face. Totally unaware that she is now doomed to haunt a spooky forrest with 50's Biker gang ghosts also walking around the forrest.

I made a work colleague angry once when I opined that a ghost he'd claimed to have seen was a hallucination. Nowadays, I'll just smile, nod, and try to change the subject.

Are you watching the World Cup?

They don’t just wear clothes, they drive ghost cars too.

They creep up on you in the middle lane, and just as they’re about to overtake you, entering your blind spot, you wait for them to pass, but they don’t. You check your mirror, nothing. Over your shoulder, nothing. Just you on an empty stretch of motorway.

My Nephew is adamant he’d seen a ghost train on our local line. Can’t remember what was ghostly about it, aside from it being an old type of train. I never saw anything there, but that part of the village is quite eerie at dusk, when the low light casts long shadows and the lay of the land, under the right conditions, creates a wind tunnel, and distant voices are drawn in on the wind.

In my second year of high school, year 8 they call it now, I was sat outside the science rooms waiting for class to start. I was the first up there, but there was lots of noise from the children on the floor below. For a moment, I thought I was about to be joined by another child as a head appeared on the stairs behind the glass. My view of their face was obscured by the fire doors at the top of the stairs that would burst open at any moment. But they didn’t, and the footfalls fell silent. I was unnerved enough to get off the cupboard I was sat on to go check the landing. There was no one there.

I suspect, if anything at all, ghosts might be information leaking from parallel universes or alternate realities into our reality. So, if you have a wank, you might want to do it in the dark.

I think people must have more ghost encounters than people want to admit. I use to listen to Ghost to Ghost" on "Coast to Coast" with Art Bell which would always air on Holloween and lots of people would have ghost encounters. Surely they couldn't all be faked. To be fair some were demon encounters and a few meetings with Satan but most were ghosts. This is where I learned that the late actor J.T Walsh was still haunting his former home. Also ghosts can get a little creeper in them and watch you from the edge of your bed while you sleep but it''s okay because they are just loved ones who have passed on and I guess these people don't have a extra chair in their room or something for them to sit on.
I think we all know about the ability to take a tape recorder and go to a cementary and record ghost's. It seems modern recording devices don't work as well. Still someday I need to get out their and prove once and for all if ghosts are real or not. If I do I will post the evidence here.

Tape recorder in a cemetery?

Grave yards are supremely peaceful places. I don’t recall ever being in a windy graveyard, even the one in the village that’s exposed to the sea, never windy. Blustery day, calm graveyard.

Well you don't always have to go to graveyards. You can also look for ghosts in old mental hospitals or prisons or regular hospitals.

All our local asylums are now luxury apartments, but the stories from family and colleagues that worked in them. Wow. Different times.

I spent a few years in the NHS in creepy old buildings, but never saw anything, though I did creep myself out a few times in the meandering corridors and crooked offices. Hospitals focus the mind on the morbid. When the wife was in hospital for the first baby, I found myself locked in a dark hospital service tunnel in the early hours on one occasion because the shortcut through the basement to the canteen was locked at night but the lift still opened. Seemed to take ages for the lift to come back and get me. Lots of trolleys, but no spooks.
