Not really. One thing Berman was right about was his response when Paramount asked about doing a 25th century show instead of Enterprise. "What is the 25th century besides tighter spandex and smaller tricorders?" When you get down to it, that is all the 25th century is going to be. Even if That Segment of Fandom got their wish and the 32nd century was erased from canon, do you really think that's going to change anything regarding what can or can't be done in the 25th century? Let's be clear on something right now, the head of the franchise is not going to have carte blanche to do as they wish with the "status quo" of the universe. They still need Paramount's approval over what happens. With that in mind, we are not going to see the collapse of the Federation, we are not going to see Earth get conquered. We are not going to see any groundbreaking ramifications which completely turn the franchise on its head. We are just going to see the same kind of Star Trek stories that can be done in any era, just with smaller tricorders and tighter spandex. With that in mind, it really doesn't matter when a Trek series is set in.
I doubt that would still be a thing post-Kurtzman era.
You likely won't be surprised what I'd go for......TOS-oriented six-plots per week a la HILL STREET and ST. ELSEWHERE. It would make the ensembles of TNG and the rest seem like three-man shows, but if the writing's inspired, little else matters.
I would rather have had no Section 31 movie than the Section 31 movie.

It would depend on the production values. Right now, other than the ridiculous absence of good lighting, I doubt a non-fan would be able to tell that SNW takes place 150 years before PIC.
Regarding the aesthetic, I've heard people say that fashion isn't as uniquely identifiable by decade as it used to be. So whereas Star Trek in the 60s, 80s, and 90s incorporated things that are noticeably from those decades rather than others in costume design (hairstyles, clothing shades, etc.), the modern Trek doesn't (or at least to a lesser extent)
It was during the pitch meeting for Enterprise. Paramount weren't sold on doing a prequel and wanted to know why he wasn't doing another 24th century show, he said he wanted to look into another time period, they then asked if he'd consider the 25th century at which point he responded with the line about the 25th century being smaller tricorders and tighter spandex.
So instead they made ENT, with smaller tricorders and a woman in a tight catsuit?
At least they occasionally put a man in a tight vest and shorts this time.
It also looked very different in terms of production design.
I'm not quite sure I agree, but to each his own.
