What was the plan with Worf and Troi romance?

I didn't expect to actually like it. Their closeness and later "romance", for lack of a better word, as it wasn't fully realized, seemed natural and organic as they became closer in dealing with Alexander. I wouldn't have put them together but somehow it worked, at least to me. I personally thought they had better chemistry than Worf and Jadzia. Probably fighting words. I am not upset that it ended but I found it entertaining at the time.

I'm not sure I'd go as far as "Better than Wof and Jadzia", but I do kind of feel as though Troi and Worf would have at least had less acrimony. Granted a lot of that was Jadzia playfully needling Worf rather than genuinely fighting, but certainly, "Let He Who is Without...." would have gone a lot differently if it was Troi instead of Jadzia.

Riker getting jealous over Worf hooking up with someone who Riker could have been with for years if he'd ever expressed any real interest in doing so strikes me as being pretty damn petty.

What if it was a surprise to Worf that Betazed gravity was a little heavier than Q'noS gravity, so she was a lot stronger than he was, throwing the poor guy around like a ragdoll?

Not over her. Over new Captains, substandard officers, & his own dad? Oh yeah, petty AF.

But honestly, throughout the show he'd only ever been supportive, & understanding with Troi, except when she was being insufferable about losing her empathy schtick, & needed a little tough love IMHO. Oh... And I guess he was ready to write her off when she wanted a command promotion lol, but that was merited.

However, personally? He was always rather mature about her relationship stuff, like The Price, and even about Worf. (at least until whatever that sudden & inexplicable AGT beef was) Even with Tom Riker, (who he handled poorly) he still kept it chill with Deanna, for the most part.

In fact, I always felt Troi was the petty one between those 2. She cold shoulders him after Conundrum (like any of that was on him) deliberately belittles his position at the end of Disaster, even if it was only a joke, & can't even let the guy play his trombone for people, without she has to try to make him screw it up on a song he struggles with. She's always quick to undercut him, as a jibe, or see him taken down a peg. Troi is a bit judgy & even puerile now & then IMHO (I suspect that's some of Marina poking through) lol
