Streaming era missed opportunities

No Assignment: Earth spinoff.

But what it was a prequel. We watch Gary Seven from Earth being trained by those aliens to become what he will become. Then we can bring back Wesley Crusher who is basically Doctor Who in Trek now as his mentor. Then we can find out that Q didn't die. He simply lost his powers and is working for them. Also Gary is living on a replica of 1960's Earth because that is the time period they are training him to work in.

No Assignment: Earth spinoff.
There were rumours of a show in development a few years ago codenamed "1992" and I wondered if it might have been a Eugenics Wars period piece that might have included Gary Seven as per Greg Cox's novels.

But they also worked on a series called Genesis, but it was Pike-era on a ship called U.S.S. Genesis that had 6 nacelles, so they were throwing a LOT at the wall. There's concept art in one of the Fanhome books.

Starfleet Academy spin-off with Bella Sheppard as lead confirmed!

I’m confused. Are you suggesting that Discovery was a S31 show? Because other than part of season 2, it really wasn’t.
Early in the show’s run, there were theories that Discovery had ties to Section 31 through officers with black badges tied to the spore drive project and the registry number ending in 31. Yet, the show kept the crew as Starfleet, despite being tonally different from other Starfleet crews.

Considering the tech involved, Discovery could have plausibly jumped to different parts of the galaxy for a series of top-secret Section 31 missions, instead of jumping to the future and keeping the characters a part of Starfleet. And I do not think it would have been a stretch to believe that crew being assigned to work for Section 31, considering threat-of-the-season was baked into the show. Enough ingredients baked into DIS to fulfill that.
Pass. Love Seven. Love Raffi. But really feel like this idea would not be worthwhile.
This alternative version of Legacy would not have Seven.

And as much as I love Shaw and the actor, the “Shawlogram” is an awful idea.
I think that idea is latinum being left on the table.
