I should have gotten the hint.
Indeed.
Well, there is, of course, still more than two years remaining for all those who were somewhat reluctant to get the hint before to go ahead and get the hint now.
I should have gotten the hint.
And there are years of entertaining posts about how people have the right to troll people who like the film, or simply complain for the sake of complaining... Comparing those apples to oranges and applying standards that would have ended TOS in 6 episodes, pretending that TOS was JAG in space.

Just a plain statement of fact.
Is that the BBS equivalent of "I know you are but what am I?"
Got it.![]()
Brilliant. You're just like the energizer bunny.
How many times did you see the film and did you bring a notebook with you?
You seem to go out of your way to make every thread into a "I hate Abrams Trek" thread. You just posted about how someone says Vader in the Trek Tech thread, which has very little to do about the forum. You made a video displaying your TOS models and chose to include the JJ model just to complain about it. I don't need to argue any of your claims. It's obvious as is your need to pollute every thread with your whining. You are being called out on it.Yep. My statement sure was.![]()

Well, by your logic, that should be sufficient. All you seem to be able to do is accuse me of trolling when you never offer any explanations for why you disagree with my statements. If I say I didn't like something, I explain why. All you do is call those of us who don't share your opinions trolls. I call pot calling kettle black. Make an argument. Rebut some of my claims. Then I may consider taking some of your comments seriously...maybe.

There's a lot of TV shows and movies I don't like. I don't join message boards for fans who like that stuff just to exercise my right to complain
How is that calling the kettle black?
That's right, it isn't.
I'm simply pointing out the FACT that some people are only popping in here to harangue and annoy those who want to actually discuss something.
It's certainly your right to not like something, but your opinion doesn't make it fact.
And if you feel the need that it's your right to constantly express that sentiment in every thread whether appropriate or not, you should respect my right to call out the lunacy and immaturity of such a tactic.
Wouldn't that be equally fair? Or are you the only person allowed to have an opinion.
Now, having said all that, wouldn't it be wonderful if we could get back on topic and start discussing the good as well as the bad about this movie in a more civilized manner. Especially one where nobody insults anybody else or calls names or tries to play holier-than-thou? Wouldn't that be nice?

OK, I-Am-Zim, what did you like about the movie?
*crickets*

That's a good question. Kind of hard to answer, though. I liked the movie itself as a whole. It was actually pretty good. I liked the action and the fast pace. It kept your attention. There were a couple of scenes that drug a bit, like the opening sequence. But for the most part it was a very engaging movie. Honestly, if it were called anything but Star Trek, I probably would have loved it. Even with the planet-sized plot holes, it was still a very good generic sci-fi tiem travel summer blockbuster. As far as the "Star Trek" aspects, I did like Karl Urban's portrayal of Dr. McCoy. To me, he was spot-on. I really felt like he was channeling DeForrest Kelley. I liked the effects. The CGI was fantastic. Even though I didn't really care for the overall look, I can't deny that the effects were fabulous. I liked some of the references to TOS, even though they felt out of place and forced at times. Especially Bones' "Good God man!"...
Oops! Time caught up with me. I gotta go pick up the kids. Be back to finish up later.
I'm a huge TOS fan, and a proponent of Star Trek '09, and found it to be a very enjoyable movie. Now with that said, there were some things I wasn't happy with. The design of the ship, for one, and it's inconsistent size. Simon Pegg's portrayal of Scotty was another (although I'm pretty sure it had nothing to do with Pegg's acting abilities; he was told to act like a clown for some Jar-Jar Binks-style comic relief). I also cringed at the end of the movie when Kirk was given command of the Enterprise while still a cadet (would a tagline "five years later" really have hurt?) But overall, I was pretty happy with the film and was glad that it was so successful, because after Nemesis and Enterprise, Star Trek was pretty much dead for the foreseeable future.
However, what I really don't like is when certain people try to tell me that I'm a moron for liking the film, by self-proclaimed TOS "experts" who were predisposed to hating the film anyway. So I'm glad to see that you're not like that.
