Definitely. Best Trek show since DS9.
One of those moments where it becomes clear to me that some of us just like and want different things. I thought Picard was probably the worst show in the franchise so far, and I don’t really like DS9 either.

I loved Picard and didn't like alot of Discovery but even I think there isn't much difference between the 2 shows other than Picard having characters I am more connected to and memberberries that I prefer the flavour of.One of those moments where it becomes clear to me that some of us just like and want different things. definitely. But I think most will agree that it has pacing issues. Is Picard worth watching?
Maybe I'm just not enough of a TV buff but I don't understand what pacing issues means. I can watch any show no matter how fast or slow as long as the story is good and the only big issue I see with PIC and DSC is they both botched the big shock revealsdefinitely. But I think most will agree that it has pacing issues.
The first few episodes of PIC are a slow burn, but this show is also about someone who's in his 90s.
in picard’s case the pacing issue, for me, was that there were loooong episodes where nothing happened, then a lot of stuff happened all at once and we were back to nothing happening again.Maybe I'm just not enough of a TV buff but I don't understand what pacing issues means. They said it was more like a 10-hour movie, so that's what I went into it with the mindset of. When you apply a three-act structure to 10 hours, it moves the way I'd think it would. You guys would hate Better Call Saul.

Better Call Saul is a prequel to Breaking Bad where we already know the fates of the most of the characters. There are a few characters we don't know the fates of, but not most of them. The show has to end synching up with Breaking Bad. So it has less room to be "shaken up" than Discovery or Picard combined.Different type of show entirely. You can be methodically-paced but the elements of the story still have to evolve. Which really doesn't happen in either live-action show. Both are stuck in the "gravity" of being franchise shows, you really can't shake anything up to any real degree.
The entire premise of the show changed.
Burnham isn't mentally in the same place.
Saru isn't in the same place.
It adapted to survive. It moved from the ocean to land. It replaced gills (23rd Century) with lungs (32nd Century). That isn't evolution, that is them getting out of an area they were roundly criticized for trying to be in, in the first place.
It was already cut in my brain. Also the Romulan trance sceneThe only scene they should cut forever from all copies is the romantic slippery sock slide on the Borg cube![]()

funny, I actually liked that. The trance scene, though...The only scene they should cut forever from all copies is the romantic slippery sock slide on the Borg cube![]()
