She ultimately found the show uninteresting, with lethargic pacing.
Lethargic pacing? One of the most common complaints against the show is that it’s too fast paced. I guess you really can’t please everyone though. Different strokes different folks.

Another common comment about the show I see is how story dense it is and how often the episodes require repeat viewings to catch it all. So this makes no sense to me.One of my major complaints about the show is that they never have enough story for the amount of episodes they are doing. Which leads to stuff like "Such Sweet Sorrow, Part I", where we spend an episode just watching the crew write letters for the majority of it.
I was wondering why no one was asking about whatever Booker took that belongs to itself... One of the scenes has a big monster type thing rearing up in front of Burnham and it looks like it might be after they crash on that planet. This is a stretch, but I was wondering if that was maybe a future version of a tardigrade? It doesn't look quite the same as Ripper at all, but I just wondered if it might be the writers tying back to the first season... Maybe the people on this planet noticed that tardigrades appear in their space and its related to them looking for ways to get out of system. For the record, I hope this is not the case and just a random connection that isn't there...I was thinking it might just be the cat. Maybe cats are rare in the 32nd century or something and people will pay big bucks to have one.

I don’t know I’d call it lethargic, but it’s uneven.
That's most shows for me.
But, it doesn't feel enjoyable. Like, I get why people don't like DSC or Picard but I know it gets better. Not for me, which is why I get confused at all the love the live-action CBS shows get. Things like Westworld, Watchmen, Occupied (Norway), Babylon Berlin (Germany), The Man in the High Castle and others have really good pacing where each episode actually feels important to the greater narrative being told. But it is a mileage may vary type of situation.
I don’t know I’d call it lethargic, but it’s uneven. Remember the pointless two-part detour to the planet of noncorporeal beings who like to use yurts and stools?
Aside from story arc issues, Discovery's biggest flaws (particularly in the first season, but also to some degree in the second - remember the flimsy blast door with a window?) seem to come from really bad coordination between the writers and the vfx/practical effects team.
Definitely some issues there, but I can’t fault the FX folks for the Pahvo filler, and I can’t imagine how they could have made the blast-door scenario work. That silliness came from the script.

i wouldn't call the speed of paint drying pacing...I prefer the pacing on Picard much more
Is Picard worth watching?
Definitely. Best Trek show since DS9.
That's cool because I've heard a lot of mixed reviews / thoughts on this show. Seems to be like most Trek shows there's two camps of people "we love it" and "this isn't Star Trek" but on the whole I think people like it. I think I'll give it a try.
You couldn't make a show now with nobs and dials and most fans accept the change in tech level. What I would have liked though is if they took more of the style and lighting from TOS rather than the darkness and lensflares lookNot like that. I mean the level of tech used. Didn’t look anymore advanced.
If only Discovery looked TOS.
