Spoilers The Mandalorian | Disney+ | Streaming Nov. 12

Some of the Mandos that rescued him in the flashback had the Death Watch symbol on their armour.

Also that Flametrooper was using the design of the Incinerator Trooper from ‘The Force Unleashed’ video game.

Some cool canon stuff. Obviously the darksaber at the end but the Mandalorians who rescue young Din are members of Death Watch. Explains why these Mandos are raised to never take their helmet off and other things that aren't true for most Mandalorians we've seen. He was basically raised by a terrorist faction, explaining his extreme following of the Mando code.

I hope Bo Katan isn't dead, and Gideon just took the Darksaber as a prize or something. I so want her to show up in live action played by Katee Sackhoff.

Though I guess they could still have her in flashbacks.

Except Death Watch took their helmets off all the time in Clone Wars. This might be a splinter group or they changed their ways after the war.

The opening scene with the stormtroopers was really weird. Two major morons right there. It felt more like Saturday Night Live than Star Wars.
It's funny you should mention that, because the Scout Trooper that snagged Baby Yoda was played by Jason Sudeikis of SNL (he left the show a few years ago but comes back frequently and just last week to play Joe Biden). The other one was comedic actor Adam Pally.

I found that opening scene to be hilarious, and in the vein of the fan film Troops. I loved them showing the Regular Joe conscript troopers bitching about their boss and their shit assignment. I could watch that all day. Alas, the bastards punched Baby Yoda though, so they had to be taken down.

I'm sure Disney cares about the 5 people who knew that. LOL

LucasFilm not Disney.

And Jon was a voice in the Clone Wars and Filoni is a producer on this show, both of them know that lore.

The same amount of people who know that are the same amount that know the Darksaber exists. They're both from the same lore source.

again.. I'm sure they don't care. they are targeting a much wider audience. Even if they both worked on animated stuff, they can discard any of that lore.. or honor it.. without really a care to the audience that watched it

That was a great finale.
The stuff with the stormtroopers in the opening was hilarious, although they really did have to die after the way they treated Baby Yoda.
Loved IG-88 showing up to help Mando and co.
Hmm, so Cara is from Alderaan.
We finally learned Mando's name, Din Djarin, and even got to see his face. I thought there was a pretty good chance we'd see his face in this one, but the way it played out was not quite what I expected.
The ferry droid being an R2 unit with arms and legs was pretty cool.
I was sad to see IG-11 go, I liked him a lot.
Gideon using the Darksaber was a cool surprise.
I'm happy Greef and Cara survived, hopefully this isn't the last we'll see of them.
So it looks like next season will be Din and Baby Yoda looking for his people.

Great way to finish the season.

Jason Sudeikis is yet another comedy actor getting a cameo on this show. I loved how the two Biker Scouts took a ton of shots at that tin can and still missed it. Right up there with the "Imperial Sharpshooter" joke from 2 episodes ago.

The E-Web Cannon was little too specific, but there you go, that one was for the fans who've been around for the long haul.

I like that the credits told me how to spell Din Djarin. That name went from being a secret to numerous characters calling him that in this episode. I also liked the explanation about how he was taken in by Mandalorians as a foundling. It was as expected, but I'm glad they spelled it out. Definitely a surprise that Cara is from Alderaan, I wouldn't mind if they did something with that next season.

"Come on baby, do the magic hand thing!"
Baby Yoda waves and says hi.
"I'm out of ideas."

Everyone has pretty much said everything I want to say about the finale so I’ll just say this: Mando, the child is now yours. Give him a name!

I still don't understand the love for this show. It starts by making fun of star wars in a full on parody way. Then it goes into nonsense Rambo action where a few people take in an army head on and win. It's old school nonsense. Why do people like it so much??

Is it? The characters are never in danger since they can just fight their way out of anything.
I didn't get that impression. Mando nearly died of a head wound, and they got out of what would have been a no-win scenario only thanks to the heroic (but logical) sacrifice of IG-11.

Giancarlo Esposito plays a great villain. He really does.

and so I can cancel my Disney+ subscription until the next season starts.
New episodes of Clone Wars start in February.
(12 new episodes, so if they're weekly, that'll be 3 months.)
And if you don't care about Clone Wars, what's wrong with you, it's some of the best Star Wars we've gotten this century!

Falcon and Winter Soldier is supposed to debut in August or September or thereabouts. Judging by the recent set photos, they're obviously not done filming yet, so it sure won't be any earlier than that.

I hope we get a season 2 with at least 10-12 episodes.
I'm not positive, but I believe it's already been renewed for a second season.
As was mentioned above, not only was it renewed, but they already started filming the second season two months ago, before the first episode of the first season even aired.

That said, while we've heard nothing official, it seems reasonable to expect both a similar 8 episode length and a November 2020 start date. That November date would get people who signed up to Disney+ for a year to renew, and that would be the perfect time to snag all the folks who got a free year from Verizon too.

I was pleasantly surprised that the finale was double in length.

I’m also excited that by the time season 2 starts, I’ll be able to watch it cuddled with my very own Baby Yoda!
