You could say the same about any TV series everIs it? The characters are never in danger since they can just fight their way out of anything.

There are very few shows were the main characters cannot face overwhelming odds and still win, in some fashion or another. Is it? The characters are never in danger since they can just fight their way out of anything.
Din Djunior?Everyone has pretty much said everything I want to say about the finale so I’ll just say this: Mando, the child is now yours. Give him a name!
What makes it work for me is the Indiana Jones approach to daring heroics. It's not effortless, he's always getting hurt, scared, knocked down, and almost killed at almost every juncture, almost always just barely surviving by the skin of his teeth. There are very few shows were the main characters cannot face overwhelming odds and still win, in some fashion or another.
I may not have signed on for the Mandalorian but that's a character thing. But, any number of series have relied upon overwhelming odds and the main characters surviving. So, Mandalorian is trading very heavily on nostalgia and familiar tropes.
Well, sure. Surviving can mean a number of things. What makes it work for me is the Indiana Jones approach to daring heroics. It's not effortless, he's always getting hurt, scared, knocked down, and almost killed at almost every juncture, almost always just barely surviving by the skin of his teeth.
Shit, that was my favorite part, had me smiling right from the start. What can I say, I realize I'm not the deepest thinker around here... Besides, the whole saga we've seen stormtroopers having silly casual conversations when we overhear them. I wonder if that was all fully scripted out or if director Taika Waititi had them improvise a bit.The opening scene with the stormtroopers was really weird. Two major morons right there. It felt more like Saturday Night Live than Star Wars. Other than that it was great. lots of great action and character moments and reveals.
Din Djunior?![]()
I don't think it was definitively answered but it works well with it being Gideon. Him knowing so much about his opponents works well with the idea of him methodically following and tracking down the child and taking his moment to strike.Did they ever explain who walked up on Ming Na? Is that thread still dangling or do we think it was Gideon?
Possibly, but Gideon doesn't have jingling spurs when he walks, while Boba Fett does. That could have been intentional misdirection, but I doubt it. The fact that it sounded like Fett and they were on Tatooine leads me to believe Fett will make an appearance in Season 2.I don't think it was definitively answered but it works well with it being Gideon. Or it's the guy from the Aftermath books that has Fett's armour. Or it's just another Mando.Possibly, but Gideon doesn't have jingling spurs when he walks, while Boba Fett does. Forgot about that, I didn't notice in that episode or for that matter before that Boba Fett jangles when he walks (something to look for in future viewings, was that in the OT or something new? Is that why his dad was Jangle Fett?). I can't really imagine why he'd be out there that would have a good payoff down the road.Possibly, but Gideon doesn't have jingling spurs when he walks, while Boba Fett does. That's not a darksaber, it's The Darksaber, there's only one. That's why it's such a big deal. Was not expecting to see a darksaber.
Wow, I completely forgot about that.Did they ever explain who walked up on Ming Na? Is that thread still dangling or do we think it was Gideon?
Adventure? Hmph. Excitement? Meh. A Jedi craves not these things.I still don't understand the love for this show. It starts by making fun of star wars in a full on parody way. Then it goes into nonsense Rambo action where a few people take in an army head on and win. It's old school nonsense. Why do people like it so much??
Someone ought to alert their friend who was killed by the Scout Troopers, their droid nanny that sacrificed itself to save the baby, the twenty odd Mandalorians who were slaughtered by the Imperials, Mando who almost died of brain damage from a head wound he suffered in an explosion, Baby Yoda who was repeatedly punched, and Cara who was ready to sacrifice herself rather than surrender to torture and execution that they were in no danger then.Is it? The characters are never in danger since they can just fight their way out of anything.
Firstly: ten thousand Jedi in a galaxy of a million or more of inhabited planets with a population probably somewhere in the quintillions means that while the Jedi got around, very very very few people ever encountered them directly.
Secondly: The Jedi probably weren't big on publicity, even during the war most of what they did could only travel by word of mouth and if people went around believing every tall tail told by shell shocked refugees and one armed drunken Aqualish, well then they may as well start believing ghosts, zombies and witches too...
Thirdly: The Empire took pains to suppress ANY information on the Jedi, even going so far as to re-write the history books. So far as anyone that never saw them with their own eyes is concerned, they either never heard of them, or if they did, they're just a myth. As for those that did: they know better than to speak up since the last person that did, got a midnight visit from the ISB and was neither seen nor heard from again...
I just had a crazy thought, what if Din does raise Baby Yoda for his whole childhood, and in the end he is accepted as a Mandalorian and it turns out that The Mandalorian of the title is actually Baby Yoda, not Din Djarin.
And now I'm imagining him in Yoda shaped Mandalorian armor.![]()
IDK, that scene very much reminded me of one of the better Star Wars fan film efforts:The opening scene with the stormtroopers was really weird. Two major morons right there. The second season of Star Wars streaming series The Mandalorian will premiere on Disney Plus sometime in fall 2020, series co-creator Jon Favreau confirmed on Friday — the same day the first season of The Mandalorian comes to its satisfying conclusion.
