The ACTUAL Enterprise G

Soooo, a fan-design? DJ Curtis himself doesn't seem too fussed, he's just appreciative that people like his art.

Fans have been designing alphabet soup Enterprises since the 80's, it doesn't make them any more real.
Certainly. Though to be fair, that is a nice design; definitely prettier than the F or the Inquiry-class.

I was always a fan of the Dedication class. I like the Shangri-La redux but not as the G. Eh, we will likely never see it again in canon.

Someone comes in, a fan of a ship design. Admittedly not the most coherent, but harmless.

I don't care! Oh you write with capitals you dumb piece of shit!

Poster never returns.

Well done team.

Familiarity sells. It's why the franchise keeps churning out one starship based show after another instead of doing something different like Deep Space Nine.

And when they DO something different, the Fandom Menace pitches a fit  (See: Starfleet Academy).

I think someone believes themselves to be the TrekBBS’s morality cop. Perhaps you should do some research to see how many newbies join just to post some random nonsense that happened to flitter through their brain, and then never return because that was the only reason they joined in the first place and don’t give a shit what other people think because they’re RIGHT.

Not to mention the wave of accounts that joined just to bash Academy.

Thank you.

In all modesty, it's something of a gift.

I suspect it's a bit like...

I like pasta with pesto. Ooh they made pasta with a tomato sauce. That's new but the same.

If you served me haggis, then I would complain.

But Trek fans are never happy. I'm one of them. It's been the same for decades. TOS fans didn't want TNG. TNG fans complained about DS9 and VOY. As Quark said... the more things change, the more they stay the same.

It's time to Stop the Confusion Already; The Actual Canon Enterprise G was designed by DJ Curtis long before 'Picard'.
What They gave to Captain Seven is still The Titan A with Incorrect Registry.
In the future: pics or ya got nothin'. Link something if you don't have or know how to post an image, yourself.

Re the ship you're talking about: I don't recognize any Enterprise that does not have a neck.

Every Enterprise until ENTERPRISE had a neck, and that ship was explicitly modeled after the Akira because some suits thought it was popular at the time. Do fuck right off.

Additionally, this ship, like many fan (and indeed canon) ships, doesn't really appear all that more advanced than the E to me. I don't buy it as the next generation of Federation flagship. Though, I can't say I did the E, either. It was sleeker, more detailed than its predecessor, but it didn't inspire me to dream of working on it one day in the distant future. It was just a "Porsche," as Berman wanted.
