I think I see Nighthawk there. The lady on the horse earlier on the timeline looks familiar but I can't place her. No idea who that early era speedster is.

Just seen it - So Lex didn't alter the message? Did James Gunn really change Superman's parents into being total A-Holes?

Why do I get the feeling if Snyder tried that with Clark's parents - the fandom would have tried to burn his house down :eek:

That's a big shift change for Superman Lore? His Dad is basically Zod with that attitude.

Can't say I like it one bit but I guess it won't be mentioned again.

Brian Bendis already established that Krypton was an imperialist civilization viewed as an oppressor to unite against by other worlds, and that Jor-El in particular was an elitist asshole who looked down on Earthlings. He also survived the destruction of Krypton, btw., and I think that is still canon to the current comics.
Although it might not be, Mark Waid has written some other stories since then featuring a more benevolent Jor-El who even disapproved of the use of the Phantom Zone as a prison.
Then again, Jor-El was a major factor in Jon Kent's premature aging-up (timey-wimey stuff), and that clearly happened, so whatever.

What I liked

* Nicholas Hoult is a brilliant Lex Luthor and probably the best version on film for me.

* Action scenes are easier to follow than Snyder's version.

* Krypto is wonderful.

* David Corenswet's & Rachel Brosnahan are really good as Clark/Superman & Lois.

* Guy Gardner/Green Lantern & Mr Terrific are really strong additions.

* Beautifully shot.

* I like that Jonathan Kent is alive

* Love the casting for Perry and Jimmy Olsen actually had something to do, which was cool.

* The interview scene with Clark & Lois was great and something we really needed in BVS.

* Liked the touch upon Social media mis use with troll/bot farms mirroring real life.

What I didn't like

* Superman felt a little weak for Superman.

* The start of the film made me feel like I had missed the actual start and the universe feels too far along - Something BVS got criticism for.

* Making his parents evil, in particular his dad. I loved what Snyder and Crowe did with Jor-El so this change was meh.

* Hawkgirl felt under developed as opposed to the other of the Justice Gang.

* Justice Gang sounds stupid but it does sound like a spinoff movie we might get in the style of Guardian of the Galaxy.

* Movie felt a little chaotic at times like the random battle with the little creature that became massive and the random squid thing that just pops up.

* Speaking of that squid thing --- The gag of the Gang fighting the giant squid thing in the background during a serious conversation with Lois/Clark was really stupid and inappropriate with the tone.

* Lex use of POWERFUL tech like making a pocket universe was way OTT and felt like cheap plot devices.

* The particle river thing in the pocket universe looked awful CGI wise and the alien baby CGI was horrendous.

* The music wasn't memorable like Hans Zimmer MoS

* Why doesn't Lex clone more Ultraman's to kill Superman?

* Supergirl is a drunk?

Agree with all your positives, have no time for any of your negatives. :lol:

(Not that you’re not entitled to them, but literally nothing you listed bothered me — and some I found to be active positives.)

I commented to my wife after seeing it again today that I felt like the Ultra Man fight maybe went on a tad long. That’s about it for my beefs.

Lex had to micromanage Ultrabizarro, punch by punch, to keep the fight going. Dude was not nearly Clark's equal.

Lex is going to jail. Think he's too smart to try the same strategy twice.

Jor-El and Lara aren't Zods. They're Kryptonians.

If i could change anything about the movie, I'd make it five or ten minutes longer. And a few more Gunn needle-drops wouldn't have gone amiss. ;)

Sources, gentlemen! Please provide sources. Random graphics and text in quote boxes are meaningless without sources.
Here's a trick for you:

Take the text in that quote box, paste it into Google and get this:

Also, you can just check out the news on Deadline, Variety, The Hollywood Reporter and a number of other industry sites

There's no "burden of proof." Believe it or don't, makes no difference.

Yes, it actually does make a difference. Not caring about the source of information and blindly believing whatever is told to you is what allows misinformation to thrive.

But this isn't the place for that argument. All I ever ask of anyone is to provide a link (as anyone who knows me here can attest to). It's really not that hard. You already have it hardly as you read it, just copy and paste it at the same time.
