Strange New Worlds Season 2 Trailer

I'm just meh on another trip to 2023.

This is their first trip to 2023! They were in 2024 before! (Pedantry is fun.)

With Jack Crusher being 21-23 on PCD and Kirk here being 27 (assuming it's 2260 and it's then-current day Kirk) they do love to cast much older actors for younger characters. Not a new thing I'm sure, but I'm more aware of it now.

Looks great. I only have one real complaint. I realize I am in the minority, but I am so sick of this weird "captain catchphrase" fascination all the shows seem to have.

I guess we now know one more of the temporal violations that Kirk took part in, noted in Trials and Tribble-ations. :)

When it comes to continuity ... I'm just happy the Tolix steel cafe chair, a 1927 classic designed by Xavier Pauchard, is still popular in the 23rd century...

It's a nice chair. Stackable, but still strong enough to hit a Klingon over the head with in a bar fight.

They showed a hologram of the D7 in DIS, not the actual ship.
Five D7's showed up for the final battle (1:25). Not a lot of closeups unfortunately.

It's even more obvious side by side that they look nothing a like. lmao.

So many wouldn't have brought it up if there wasn't truth to it. I recall the Twitter jokes about it.

Either way, we'll know soon whether Paul Wesley can actually properly play the Shatner James T Kirk. IMO he is miscast. Doesn't have the charm, the range and that mischievous smile.

Some made excuses for him in the SNW finale because of the alternate universe. This time he is supposedly playing the Prime universe Kirk, just a few short years before TOS... so we'll see if he's still bland AF.

I guess I'm just taking pot shots at Picard and the heaviness of its plot. The death and destruction. The whole fate of the Federation is at stake.... yadda yadda yadda.

I love some good old fashioned adventurous fun and exploration! And this show delivers!

So happy!
I watch some Korean drama, they do a decent job of breaking up their season long storyarcs. You'll get bits that tie into the main plot. But they'll also take take breaks to do side stories or develop characters. They also allow for a variety of tone, even if it's serious, they'll have some wholesome or funny stuff

With some of the season long stories I new Trek. They feel too stretched out and unsatisfying sometimes. Even standout chapters don't always have enough to make me rewatch it

Just basing it on Paul's debut episode, he kind of had a less cranky Jellico vibe in my eyes

Looks fun. However, I've been tricked by movie/show trailers before, so I'll reserve judgement till we actually see the show.

"Thrust ahead. Full power. I want this climax to be done before we even started."

"Sir, its just an exploration miss-"

"Miss is right, mister! Thrust on!"
