The only time Star Trek may not be fun, is when I read some of the petty chit that pops up in these threads as complaints.

I guess I'm just taking pot shots at Picard and the heaviness of its plot. The death and destruction. The whole fate of the Federation is at stake.... yadda yadda yadda.
I love some good old fashioned adventurous fun and exploration! And this show delivers!

As someone who has genuinely loved Picard Season 3, this looks Fantastic. The one thing that made me love Trek in the very beginning was that it was my comfort show. I could watch it, it was light hearted and walk away feeling…happy. Trek has been significantly dark and morose for a while and having LD, PRO and SNW has been such a breath of fresh air! Can’t wait!

The positives: This looks visually engaging. Anson will again elevate the material and carry this show. Jess Bush looks sexy.
Good music choice. This has a very Marvel Studios vibe to it. Light, fun, safe, crowd-pleasing. Unlike Discovery, it is watchable.
The negatives: The absence of Hemmer, who had so much potential. Not keen on Pelia, the actress tends to play such annoying characters, and her grating voice. Hopefully this is against type.
Another Time Travel plot to modern day Earth on Nu Trek?
That's totally Yonge/Dundas Sq and you can see some random hoser wearing a Maple Leafs jersey..

Couldn't this be 23rd century Earth? Into Darkness looked like today until they went outdoors and we saw the skyscrapers everywhere. Or some colony planet that just happens to look like 21st century Toronto?
They look exactly alike. It's unintentionally hilarious.
I don't mind that it looks like Downtown Toronto. They filmed the SNW pilot at York University and didn't really hide it well either. It's fine. I'm just meh on another trip to 2023.
Yeah it's possible. They could probably edit out the modern stuff (Roots, Maple Leafs, etc) in post. Though it seems strange for it to be in the promotional trailer.
You clearly haven't seen a picture of Jim Carey in a while. They look nothing a like.
