Not having read the article, the title:
Interview: ‘Strange New Worlds’ Cast Hypes Seasons 4 And 5, Talks Hope For ‘Star Trek: Year One’
...makes it sound like the SNW cast were actively talking about Y1, rather than the interviewer bating them with a nonsequitor question that can only have one answer.

I know what the next Trek show will be about. The Enterprise during KIrk' s first season and the Enterprise from the future under the Command of Seven of Nine travel back in time and need help from President Archer to get back to their time periods. With a little help from Trip and Tuvix who were kidnapped before their assumed deaths by the same aliens responsible for the time travel in the series.

same with erica and laan as teachers at starfleet academy lol which brings me to say i can imagine if erica and laan was on star trek starfleet academy as archive footage and or as descendents of them

I get this feeling that Una and Ortegas will go off to another ship. I think that La’an’s character background leads to a different fate. I wonder if her time travel adventure in “Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow” will lead to her playing a part in it. Or ya know, the whole relation to Khan thing doing something. Who knows though?

I do really like the idea of temporal agent La'an but I'm not going to commit my heart to any particular headcanon yet. I'm too fragile to be hurt again.
