And all the modern display screens that are legible and readable now will give way to all those 60s panels which were just blinky lights
The final SNW episode shows an observant augment virus Klingon reading the Enterprise specs during viewscreen negotiations, leading to the Klingons blasting the ship to bits. A Federation resource shortage means it has to be rebuilt on bare minimum, retro-looking materials, with the screens changed to blinking lights so that Federation enemies can't read specs through their viewscreen again (they'll have to wait another century to hijack Geordi's visor to do that).

Because Robert April had championed the earlier "specs visible" bridge design, he's demoted to Commodore and goes permanently pale from humiliation. The Federation also suddenly instate a mandatory retirement age in the hopes of forcing him to retire soon.

The Klingons for the next couple of years put entirely augment virus Klingons on their front lines in the hopes of repeating a similar victory
