Spoilers Strange New Worlds General Discussion Thread

At least most us I know agree that if we don't see Dr Piper take his position as CMO then it will be a slap in the face of all fandom! We have been waiting years for more Piper. Time for them to give it to us!:vulcan:
You know how much sleep I'll lose if we never see Dr. Piper? None at all.
I like M'Benga as well. But he still has to head to Vulcan eventually
M'Benga's already been to Vulcan. He mentioned his time at Vulcan was how he was able to solve Spock and T'Pring's body swap debacle.

Well, McCoy didn't become CMO until 2266 and the second pilot episode is set in 2265, but I can buy that Piper was pulling a Pulaski in place of M'Benga and didn't hang around for long.

M'Benga to Boyce, not Piper, is the CMO transition that needs to happen at some point.

His daughter does not need a cure, atm. Perhaps there will be ramifications for what he did in "Under the Cloak of War." It took until the next season for Una's heritage to bite her. Perhaps it will be something else.
Dr. Boyce was Pike's doctor during "The Cage" which occurred prior to SNW. Dr. Piper is the Doctor in the second pilot.

Two episodes set 11 years apart, plenty of time for Boyce to retire, M'Benga to serve years with Pike and then taking time off or temporarily leaving the ship and being replaced by Piper. McCoy takes over the job by early 2266.
