I haven't seen S2 as it came out this year, contrary to S1 last year.

Should I just grab the Blu-Ray once it comes out? How does it compare, generally, to S1?

IMO - Both seasons are very good. I love both. but I have to say overall I like season 2 a little more than season 1.

It would be an interesting take for adult gorn to lose their tails and replace them with mechanical ones.

I don't think it would ever get so far to cause borg comparisons. I don't think anyone is saying that they should start replacing their entire bodies with machines. Just that perhaps older Gorn lose their tails at a certain level of maturity (or other reasons), and soldiers' armor sometimes include artificial ones as weapons. like a knight carrying a sword, except this sword is attached to their ass. They get used to having a tail in youth and so they replicate it artificially as a weapon.

"Those Old Scientists" actually made me interested in Lower Decks, so I started watching it and will start season 3 tonight. I'm enjoying it so far.
