Captain Angel was the one of the worst characters after my rewatch. She added nothing to the series accept be an antagonist with massive plot armor

I did not care for the character either.
Angel did bring Sybok back into the franchise so at least there's that.
One plus to their appearance.
Some villains' feel like they put the "F-U" in fun...They're fun. Fun villains are....well, fun.

yeah, I finished that episode as part of my season rewatch a few days ago and yeah…not a great character.
I found the character in the episode enjoyable enough. I did like that she wasn't initially your average mustache twirling villain; and the bit with the captive Enterprise crew causing a mutiny on her ship was hilarious.
Angel for me was so-so at best but the overall episode was fun. Pike fomenting a mutiny on her ship was the most creative part and that sequence always makes me smile.

The nods to the TOS dress uniforms (and Man, are they so similar) and the courtroom witness chair with the light-up handrest are just exquisite.
Don't forget the 5" square yellow 'Data Tape' that 'clicks' into the computer slot. (They'll have the 3.5" version by the time of TOS.)

I watched ST:Into Darkness last night on broadcast television while sewing tiny things and was stupidly surprised by all the promotion for SNW S2. I mean if you're going to broadcast a 2hr12m film over the course of 3 hours, I guess you might as well. There wasn't anything I hadn't seen already because I'm a big nerd. But it made me happy to see it promoted outside social media.

And 22nd century prequel versions existed in ENT though they more closely resembled large USB drives or old video game cartridges.
Waits for his retro floppy disk style USB drive to catch on.
Children of the Comet is such a beautiful episode. Gooding has a great singing voice, but just the visual effects of the singing scene kind of blew me away. It reminded me of the Prodigy episode that took on kind of the same thing, using acoustics as a form of communication.
I still thin k they look a bit Mass Effectish.
