They were still airing this NBC Peacock promo as late as just after my birth in 1974. The Tonight Show still opened with the "living color" intro that year.

That explains a lot :guffaw: ...

The only people who were higher than Star Trek back then:

"NOT WORTHY! NOT WORTHY!"

Which was rather glaring, IMO. They spend Disco's first season completely redesigning Starfleet's visual wheel and tell the complaining fans "visuals aren't canon" then in the second season the completely trip over themselves disregarding that design aesthetic and lineage to make the Enterprise as visually similar to TOS as possible.
It was a discofied Enterprise though ;)

They learned from their mistakes, apparently. We’ll see just how much they learned when we start seeing images from SNW.

I hope they reduce the shine and glare for the ongoing series. Make the floor a little more matte and dim some of the ceiling lights, maybe. (Would love some colored gels over the ceiling lights, like in TOS, but I dare hope for only so much.)

I kinda think they’ll have to do something with the floor. That high-gloss finish would be a nightmare to keep clean in HD.
I think you just nailed my issue with the new Enterprise bridge. Basically it all looks like it just came off the assembly line and probably even still has that new ship smell. But the problem is the ship is old. It's already had a 5 year mission under Robert April and I am guessing maybe another 5 under Pike. We are talking about a decade old ship.

If you go with the "bridge modules can be replaced" theory, then it doesn't matter how old the ship is. Either that, or Starfleet routinely renovates select ships following five year missions.

My BTS thinking of the Discoprise uniforms are; we already have a uniform let's just make it TOS colors.
With SNW I hope they take out the ridiculous armpit piping and just make it a bit more Chill

I believe that there was mention of it shinning like the top of the Chrysler Building, and that does somewhat resemble a roundish knob.

I wonder if the ship will have saucer separation ability. I think in the tech Manuels it was said the TOS Enterprise could do this. Also I do want to see the Bowling Alley onboard. Also Pike needs to watch his tv. Seems his favorite show is the old historical classics of Young Shelton, CSI and whatever show is on the CBS lineup at the time.
