The bridge of the TOS Movie Enterprise changed from film to film, even altering small details between TWOK and TSFS.
It's not that hard to bring Trip back. Just have a character say" Didn"t you die." Then have Trip say "It's a long story" and then not mention it againYeah, it's best to leave the character dead and gone at this point.
Potential new fans won't have the foggiest idea who he is, or the significance of his place in the mythology
Old fans will just roll their eyes at watching the writers getting wrapped around a Gordian Knot of an axle just trying to explain why he didn't die in the first place (holodeck story inaccuracy?) at the expense of the primary story they're trying to tell.
Don't bog down SNW on that ancient shit. Leave sleeping dogs lie.
I like how the novels did it.It's not that hard to bring Trip back. Just have a character say" Didn"t you die." Then have Trip say "It's a long story" and then not mention it again
Agreed. I don't find this idea very palatable.No. Just no.

This shuttle Eaves designed for the USS Iowa/Kelvin would be the perfect kind of design upgrade I'd like to see in SNW. Too bad it was already used in ST09, they probably wouldn't want to reuse it. Plus Eaves isn't on Strange New Worlds as far as we know.

And it obviously underwent a refit.I think you just nailed my issue with the new Enterprise bridge. Basically it all looks like it just came off the assembly line and probably even still has that new ship smell. But the problem is the ship is old. It's already had a 5 year mission under Robert April and I am guessing maybe another 5 under Pike. We are talking about a decade old ship.
I would do the upper right one. I think the tighter nacelle configuration is a nicer look, while being reflective of the TOS era. This shuttle Eaves designed for the USS Iowa/Kelvin would be the perfect kind of design upgrade I'd like to see in SNW. "If Memory Serves" The Enterprise looked as it did during the original pilot for TOS - "The Cage".
Look again at the opening flashback/teaser.I'm not aware of the Enterprise (inside or out) appearing in that episode...![]()

Yes and no, for the exterior shots in the previously on, they used footage from later in TOS, if you look at the nacelles, the 'lightning rods' are missing, and it has the smaller bridge dome.in the episode "If Memory Serves" The Enterprise looked as it did during the original pilot for TOS - "The Cage"
My point was - they showed the TOS era 1701 from the 1966-69 series ON ST: D so yeah, it existed in that Universe.Yes and no, for the exterior shots in the previously on, they used footage from later in TOS, if you look at the nacelles, the 'lightning rods' are missing, and it has the smaller bridge dome.
But yeah the rest of the shots were from The Cage.
Star Trek: Road to the ‘Boop Boop’ Chair!Go the comic book title route and call it "Star Trek: Year One."
