I'd have McCoy as the doctor. Just go full 2009 Star Trek and have the TOS crew under Pike but with Number One there too.
...it's not redundant to my point, as I was offering a possible explanation behind some of the hate for the actor.
Yeah..."I heard a rumor" is always the best place to look for explanations.![]()
When you're done with your faux outrage
That's snark, not faux outrage.rather than something to fit your faux outrage
This is not the sort of post that should be made lightly. Not everyone here is "in the know". I'm certainly not. So reading this, if true, is a surprise.I think the rumours (might be more than just rumours) of him sexually harassing Nana Visitor might have something to do with it.

You need to post a source. Given the serious nature of what you're saying, you need to. No one should just be like, "Oh, yeah, maybe it's true. I'll take your post at face value!"
"Maybe they're making a new Star Trek movie after all." That's the kind of thing you go "maybe it's true..." about, not something like this.
ViacomCBS on Tuesday announced plans for a virtual upfront, becoming the first media conglomerate to go ahead with something resembling a full-fledged presentation to advertisers.
In a memo to clients and partners, chief advertising revenue officer Jo Ann Ross detailed plans for "a series of short virtual presentations" showcasing the company's assets on May 18 and 19. The "ViacomCBS Upfront @ Home" will take place a few days later than what would have been CBS' traditional upfront on May 13. That show at New York's Carnegie Hall, along with all other traditional, in-person gatherings for upfronts week, was called off in March due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.

The May 18 presentation will spotlight the combined assets of the recently merged ViacomCBS and present content from the company's cable portfolio, streaming platform Pluto TV and other digital assets. On May 19, the CBS broadcast network will announce its schedule for fall, and CBS All Access, CBS News and CBS Sports will also showcase their programming.
This is from a couple of weeks ago, FYI:

So maybe some more info today. Or not.
Does anyone know at what time the announcement will take place?
What announcement? They already announced the show.
It won’t be Carnegie Hall, but ViacomCBS’s virtual upfront presentations on May 18 and 19 will be entertaining, promises Jo Ann Ross, the media company’s president and chief advertising revenue officer.
“First and foremost, we believe it is our job to entertain and show the content that will resonate with different clients that have different audiences that they want to reach,” Ross said.
The upfront will also present a unified front for Viacom and CBS, which merged at the end of last year. The coronavirus crisis wiped out both CBS’s annual theatrical presentation as well as the smaller intimate dinners with media buyers that Viacom held, hosted by CEO Bob Bakish.
“The upfront that we’ve come up with is a brilliant, I don’t want to say replacement, I’ll say a brilliant turn from what we were doing as separate companies,” Ross said.
The event will cover the unveiling of CBS’s primetime schedule, show off Viacom’s cable networks and display the combined company’s streaming assets, including CBS All Access and Pluto TV.
Since TOS is the creative foundation of the Franchise, the post-"Enterprise" revival of Trek -- however long it might take -- will very likely be a "re-imagined" version of TOS, oriented toward more modern aesthetics, storytelling style and mores.
I was reading through the old Enterprise forum and came across someone actually predicting Discovery and Strange New Worlds back in 2003!
I miss him.Yeah...I guess he "predicted" the Abrams movies, too. It was a reasonably logical guess.
Jesus, though, Buzzkill was a mean-spirited son of a bitch. I'm glad he's gone.
Yes, that's Serveaux, who was using a different username at the time.I was reading through the old Enterprise forum and came across someone actually predicting Discovery and Strange New Worlds back in 2003!
I miss him.
Exactly as Roddenberry expected to happen.I was reading through the old Enterprise forum and came across someone actually predicting Discovery and Strange New Worlds back in 2003!
