Spoilers Strange New Worlds General Discussion Thread

Yes it is. No it isn't.
Could you all just stop?
Here's a gif to make it easier :)

I've started to put people with too many posts like that on my ignore list. Either they can't explain their position, or they won't, they just state a minimalist version of it with no explanation. Colossal waste of time for everyone involved.
Well, sometimes the explanation is going to fall on deaf ears.

You know, if they're going to have a number of alien regulars on the crew, I'd enjoy seeing an Andorian.

No particular reason other than that they're fun to look at and they're so damned emotionally hyperreactive. And depending upon the approach they take, it's not necessary that the makeup interfere with the actors' faces to the extent it does with some other fan favorites.

But it doesn't appear that one of the blueskins is in the casting cards.

So is there is info out their on who they are trying to cast? Maybe some details even on all the new characters.

If they’re going to start principal photography in the spring, I’d think sets are being built and costumes/props are being made. Months of work just getting ready.

Hopefully they preserved the bridge and the few hallways that were already made for Disco S2.
IIRC, they purposely built the new Enterprise bridge with more resilient, 3D-printed materials than the usual plywood framing because they knew it would likely see future use.

I kinda hope they redo the corridors and build sets specifically for the Enterprise on SNW. I wasn't too crazy about redressing the Disco sets with red highlights, but I've never really liked their corridors to begin with.

I do also hope they build more TOS-centric corridors and secondary sets. Although I guess Georgiou thought they were orange when she saw them. Maybe it’s that wonky MU visual oddity at play.

I also hope they tinker with the sets as well or built even new ones. Also the main engineering has got to really be upgraded from that confusing mess that we saw in Short Treks. Of course it will also be interesting to see the sets if the show is more brightly lit which is what I am hoping for.

I agree that the main engineering CGI was really awful. Fortunately, this is a lot easier to correct than having built a crummy set.

Presumably they'll build out the remaining bits of the bridge that were CG in the STD episode.

They seem to have a briefing room set. There were some early posts on Instagram or somewhere - they're probably documented on TrekBBS - where an art department person indicated that they were designing a Sick Bay set.
