Spoilers Strange New Worlds General Discussion Thread

STO as well tried to make it look a bit less cartoonish. Not as much as they did with the Vancouver tho.

Neat, is there turbolifts in the pylons? Or do you beam to the nacelles and secondary hull?

the design for the California class makes absolutely no sense.

I am irrationally annoyed by this, and ships like it (the Grissom, the E-F and seemingly every STO design). The hole/gap in the middle makes absolutely no sense and I cannot imagine a single use case where it is beneficial. Maddening.
 
Obviously an artistic/stylistic design choice by Star Fleet engineers that realized that in space almost any configuration will work.

They were more than a few centuries ahead of the eventual design choices of the 32nd century.
