Excellent. I'm glad he's doing the right thing. It was pretty absurd for a program about the moral importance of rebellion against an oppressive and exploitative system to continue production during a strike.
How nervous are folks about the LDS episode? I think it will either fail super-hard or be the best thing ever and nothing in-between. I'm very curious to know how they will pull it off.
I'm not nervous about S4 episodes. Those would have been written and recorded a long time ago. But actor Tawney Newsome is on strike (because she is also a staff writer for Starfleet Academy), and strike rules prohibit her from doing any improvisation when recording dialogue, which would be departure from previous seasons on LD. So the strike will affect production of S5 if it isn't resolved soon.
I feel like Spock Amok and Elysian Kingdom were trials to see if the humor can get across.

Out of curiosity how does that work? So if hypothetically Dave Filoni, who writes for both live action and animated Star Wars, ceases work on live action shows and works solely on Animation Guild projects that still benefit Disney, would that still be considered "scabbing" by the WGA?
I liked Spock Amok but the fairytale one really grinded my gears till the ending and oddly that last act saved it for me.

LDS probably wouldn't have had the budget for a crossover unless the whole episode was animated.
It could also be that LDS IS one of the few exceptions WRT animated content where (like Family Guy) it's staff is WGA, and the production covered under that Union.Didn't she get hired as staff writer for the new Starfleet Academy series? So that makes her WGA. In which case anything she ad-libs might be considered"writing?"
