Was he cremated? I forgot. Yes - churn them up into a freakin whirlwind!
I'm trying to figure out the inspiration for the meal T'Pring set up for her and Spock to share. It kind of looked like a mountain of cous cous dotted with veggies. But I can't find a screen cap of it. The set dressing is very cool in this scene.
How do you know it was set dressing? Could have been Italian or Cesar.I'm trying to figure out the inspiration for the meal T'Pring set up for her and Spock to share. In this day and age ... it was most likely Ranch. How do you know it was set dressing? Could have been Italian or Cesar.

Thank you. That looks pretty close.Twitter tells me it might be a take on Nasi Tumpeng.

Ethan Peck’s Spock, for me, succeeds because it does not feel like a Nimoy impression. There are influences, certainly. The way that character relates to everyone else and his role in the ship’s overall group dynamic feel tied to the original Spock without being overly beholden or nitpicky. In general, I dislike prequels, especially those with an earlier version of a beloved character — that later iteration feels like homework, and watching Guy You Know But Young Now tends to have that sense of wanting the writers and performers to show their work. I know the answer is Spock, so now they have to solve for Spock.
There is still some of that in Strange New Worlds, but Peck’s Spock and Celia Rose Gooding’s Uhura both have a shining inner sincerity that pushes against the cynical foreknowledge of why these characters are in this series at all. It could come off as so cloying, but by and large, I find I’m just happy to spend time with them.
Lots of great thoughts and reflections in that article!
It would seem Sarek knocked boots with a Vulcan princess without ticking the matrimony box first. I know they specifically said something about Spock's bastard half-brother, but I was too busy making that sound one makes after swallowing really nasty cough medicine to hear it. (I'm not a Sybok fan)Question, my sound got all mumbly at the end. What was that last thing he said about Sarek and Sybok?
