On a different day, this could be my list.
I probably love way too many of these characters.
And serve it all up on baffle plates!

I've probably missed some connecting context here, (or you're being facetious) but Lorca was a character new to the franchise, right? A character created by the writers of Discovery, and always intended to be what he ended up being. He couldn't have been fucked up by writers if his character was exactly what they had envisioned when they created him.
They took a wrong turn.
I seriously doubt it was their intention from Day One for him to be a Mirror Universe baddie. Bryan Fuller leaving the show was the impetus for many things that happened in the series both good and terrible.
The only reason SNW should ever even consider a Mirror episode is to:
I may be mistaken (and I do think that Mirror Lorca was a terrible idea) but don’t I recall something about Fuller having planned at least a trip to the mirror universe? That doesn’t necessarily mean Mirror Lorca was planned from the outset but it might have been a thought.
Fuller's original plan was Lorca was from another alternate reality, one essentially the same as the Prime Universe but Michael was instead celebrated as a hero after the Binary Stars Battle instead of a condemned as a criminal. Though the plan obviously changed to Mirror Universe by the time Jason Isaacs was cast, since he claims he was informed the character was from the Mirror Universe as soon as his contract was signed.
He could have been from the mirror universe but to do a complete 180 and turn on everyone was poor writing. It wasn’t like the Empress he was going up against was a nice person.
Anyway, I hope we can get Prime Lorca in SNW. He doesn’t need to be in the mirror universe. They can have some fun with that

That'd require rescuing him from the Mirror universe and another crossover. Although maybe I'd welcome if it we see Mirror Kirk kill Mirror Pike to get command of the ISS Enterprise.
I'm also wondering if we will see pre-psychotic Garth of Izar and Matt Decker.
I actually found Lorca's twist in the mirror-verse exciting and then enjoyed connecting all the hints from his introduction to that reveal. I was entertained. Of course I had no investment in whether or not he was a hero. I just found the character charismatic and intriguing. But not a nice man (even when I thought he was prime universe).
